I have a deposit, but the sale will take a few weeks to finalize. I will take the ad down when the sale is completed.
Damn, I have a silver Euro model(50 state car) with 30k miles on it. Great history from a collector in Vegas. I would have trouble letting it go under $120k. I’m happy mine had a few miles when I bought it. Nice car Here, hope they go back up in value some day.....Bill
Thanks for joining the conversation Billy. I don’t think you’re too far off the mark with the value of your car, given its mileage and assuming everything else is in top shape. I’s been my experience in researching these cars over the last 12 years or so, especially when I bought my car and now that I’m selling it, that mileage takes a hit in the market of APPROXIMATELY $1.00/mile for higher mileage cars. Unfortunately, there is a stigma in the Ferrari world against F-cars with more than 20,000 miles on them. Of course, those of us that know these cars find that absolutely ridiculous. These 550’s are tanks in the Ferrari line up. They just keep running and getting better with age, as they aren’t as temperamental as other Ferraris of the past have been. It will probably be a long time before Ferrari aficionados get off their high horses and come to realize these cars are basically like any other car. If you take care of it, it will last indefinitely. You just have to keep pouring money into it. But in the end its worth it, I believe. By the way, just so everybody knows, after I posted my ad and only recently as I was going through the process of my sale, I found out that my last major timing belt service was not actually done two years ago, but was actually done 4 years ago. So, I’m in the process of getting a new major belt service done this week. Ah, the joys and heartaches of Ferrari ownership! As an aside, which is probably a topic for another post is the real cost of 550 Maranello ownership. I have every maintenance receipt since the car was purchased. The car was always serviced at dealers or Ferrari certified mechanics and everything gets fixed when something comes up. The cost of maintenance over the life of my car has been $1.46/mile. The cost of maintenance over the 9.5 years I’ve owned it has been $1.73/mile. These numbers do not include the cost of detailing supplies, insurance or gas. I hope this helps anyone considering the purchase of one of these cars. Cheers! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rick and I are working on the belt service (hence the in process) then I am thinking of driving the car back to CA for an epic Ferrari road trip.
Gordon tells me you hot-rod Miatas! I've got a 2019. I'm pretty happy with it though. More power couldn't hurt, though, I suppose.
