Yeah, I found it strange myself.. but it was repaired and taken care of, and yes I don't feel it should hurt the valuation either.

I just posted some info on the 18 1999 (last MY) manual GTS' in the country. I'm positive this is the only blue one in the country. Most are red and yellow. 1 white. 1 black, 2 silvers.

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/355-registry.123485/page-86

Blue F355's are highly desired. Ferrari only produced 10% cars in blue in the late 90's and the 355 had 11 shades to choose from. Everyone knows what TDF is. Safe to consider only 1% of 355's are made in TDF.

This info should be factored into valuation. This is not a spec you have a chance to get again once missed out.

Yes. But they also get info from body shops repair order/soft ware estimating systems.

A body shop can opt in to report to Carfax. Some don't know that they can opt out.

$210k + $5k buyer’s fee. Seems like some of the rumors of the classic sports car market’s demise are exaggerated.

Or the BaT effect is just overpowering. Either way, congrats on the result.

Beautiful car. Thank you for bringing it here before BAT to give fchat folks the chance to buy first.

Yes, we did try and really catered to a lot of FChat folks but in the end, they walked and it's all good we had fun with the auction and results.

    Best,
    Carlo

This wasn't some run of the mill 355. I think the overall market is still solid for now, but for unique cars there's always demand. In the context of recent Ferrari and Porsche prices, $210K wasn't that hard to believe.

Agreed. There were some naysayers earlier in the thread who claimed that this car was worth something like $125k-$130k (or just offered up a generalized "$199k is overpriced"). Obviously these comments were coming from people not in touch with the current market, especially for 355 GTS.

Tempted to tag them here as some were quite emphatic in the accuracy of their valuations.

Great sale Carlo. I had my doubts it would get 200 but I’ve told people before - in Ferrari-land you can’t assign a price to good taste and a well-spec’ed car. Glad you found the right audience on BAT.

You are still crying about others predictions. Big deal, move on. No one knew for sure, they were estimates.

Good for the seller, I wish he got more. Makes no difference to me.

And you can't let go that you were (correctly) called out for being miles off on value by someone who actually follows the market on these cars.

Won't sully this thread any further with responses. Hopefully you now know what the 355 market is like these days. Have a nice week!

The more important aspect is that a legendary dealer like Bobileff couldn't get the asking price, even on a forum like Fchat, but got more than the ask on Bat.

I'm not sure if that is a mark for, or against BaT. It sure has strayed far from where it began.

It looks like a great car - 355's are amazing, but I have always been scared off of the Headers and guides issues... I was just at FOA and they have one in for service that did not have a belt change for 14 years...... ugg! I guess the reality is getting a new Ferrari is going to take a lot of time as you basically cant take new orders, and the factory is so backlogged... so dealers are selling used cars ( 2k - 10K mile cars ) for huge prices... so if you sell high - you then have to buy in high.

so comparing a $210K 355 vs. a $300k 488.... its all relative. but the 355 will always look amazing.... hope the buyer drives the car and has fun.
