I can tell you one thing. The bumper appears to be a totally different shade of yellow than the rest of the car in several different photos. A good paint shop should never let that out the door. It could only be rock chip paintwork but the quality makes you wonder....

wow... any chance the shiny bumper could be a thick film of 3M protective material??

    Very (very, very) doubtful.

As you said, a quality body shop wouldn't let that out the door, just the same as a quality reseller wouldn't dare show a car in that state. Even if they had to pay out of pocket to have it (re)done properly, it wouldn't be a significant expense... if they cheaped out on that, what else have they skimped on? Even if it were for something minor like rock chips, I wouldn't touch the car... a seller that lazy or careless doesn't deserve the business.

This Diablo is well known in Los Angels area, original owner has other super exotics, you should post this in So Cal section, I'm sure others will chime in.

Wow. Maaco would have done a better job than whoever painted that thing. Apparently, the owner or body guy just picked a "bright yellow" out of a book and said "Yep, that looks about right".

    Wow.

But you are right. Any owner that would allow the outside of the car to look like that, probably cares less about the inside of the car.

No telling how many shades of yellow that car is. Looks like someone tried to photoshop the color and just made it worse. On a couple of them the bumper matches the rest of the car.

Oh yeah, that's a Diablo SV roadster your looking at. Ha.

For confirmation: This 99' Diablo was previously owned by just one local person here in Southern Calif., he was the original owner of the car & one of the founders of the Lamborghini club, many of you may know him. The photos were taken in bad lighting but in person you honestly wouldn't look twice at the bumper. This Diablo is the cleanest I've seen, runs awesome, has no hidden issues whatsoever & the mileage is correct. Definitely a must-see in person -- feel free to contact me with any questions.

    Fred,

I might be wrong here but wouldn't the fact that the repaint was exposed make it "good lighting" that the pic was taken in? The best lighting is the kind that exposes paint imperfections (if they are present) in my experience.

    Dear Lamborghinisti,

The center pieces of the buttons are little plastic inserts that peel and shrink. It's a Roadster so the buttons are under the constant glare of the sun.

I had the same issue and replaced all the buttons in my console. Places like Cali( this car) and Florida (my Roadster) exacerbate the problem.

Good for the buyer bad for the seller, I think he meant the lighting is bad because it shows the imperfections. I am sure they have had many cars in the same spot as the Diablo for pics and if it was truly bad lighting it would have been changed a long time ago. Worse case scenario would be to change the lighting to good(in his opinion)to hide the damage before the pics were posted on the internet for all to see.
