I picked my 430 up this morning from Boardwalk Ferrari in Dallas. It is grigio silverstone and black. I have been driving it all day. It now has over 250 miles on the clock with more to come tonight.

I offer the following comparisons to my 2003 360 that I drove over 5,000 miles: The biggest difference I noticed is the new F1 is MUCH smoother and quicker than the 360, especially from 1st to 2nd. Second, the amount of torque in the 2,000 - 5,000 band is significant and much needed. Third, the sound is amazing. Tubi will have a tough time selling any systems for this car. In the sport mode it is pure music. I have seen countless people rolling their windows down in the 104 degree heat to hear the car. Fourth, in normal mode the car is better riding than the 360. Fifth, the Daytona seats are more comfortable than those in the 360. The instrument panel is easier to see in the 430. I like the steering wheel in the 430 much better than the 360. On the 360 I was regularly hitting the horn. This was a problems many of us had at the Pilota driving school in Italy that has been fixed.

The dash in the 360 looks more elegant. I got the carbon fiber which I like but the elegance of the 360 dash is hard to beat. The visibility to the right and left rear is noticeable better in the 360. The intakes on the 430 are clearly higher and wider.

In sum I am realize I am very fortunate to be able to have the car. While I loved the 360, the 430 is a noteable improvement.

For anyone who is in the market for a great 360, I traded mine in to Boardwalk Ferrari in Dallas. I owned it since new and know it is a superb car. Greg and Stacey are great to work with and will take good care of whoever is lucky enough to get the car.

I heard a 430 startup this morning at Beverly Hills Ferrari, as the new owner was getting ready to pickup his car (lucky guy!). I couldn't believe how much of a bark the exhaust system has. That thing passes noise standards?

    Enjoy the new ride!

It is funny that you made the comment that the horn issue has been fixed. I find that I hit the horn on my F430 accidentally quite often when maneouvering at low speeds and it is quite embarassing.

I have to agree with the rest of your analysis though.. the sound is unbelievable and I can't wait to hear a car with the Tubi on it. I have the spider which I understand sounds quite a bit different but I haven't had an opportunity to hear a coupe in person.

I am absolutely stunned at the build quality. This is my first Ferrari and I would say that the build quality (at least what I can discern of it in the first 500km or so) is much better than the Mercedes and BMWs I am accustomed to, and the ride is much more solid than my SL55 without *any* rattles (the SL is a rattle trap)

Are you leaving the wheels stock?

I liked your run down on the good and bad with the cars. Enjoy the new toy. You said it was 104 degrees in Dallas I guess the AC is good in the f430????

my f430 is almost 2 months old-have over 1000 miles on it -i agree with everything regarding the first post-i am like a little kid when i go under a bridge-i gun it and other drivers look around to see what they heard-no tube for me-i also tracked it in the rain-the car handles extremely well-i feel this is more of a sports car than my 360.this car i am going to drive-my 360 was a garage queen-my roi is driving the car not looking at it.any idiosyncrasies that any one has noticed yet or would like to share?

The only problem that I have with the F430 is that I don't have one! :(

If you are sounding the horn ofen then you are gripping the steering wheel to tightly. Less pressure on the wheel translates to more communication with the car.:)
