The weather was good this weekend, so I was able to get my first full drive in since October of last year.

As I was putting the car through its paces, I noticed an intermitted vibration starting off the line in 1st gear. I had a few drive shafts go out on my Land Rover over the years and that's exactly what it felt like. As soon as I shifted into second and beyond the vibration immediately went away.

The engine ran perfectly fine, the gears shifted as they should without any grinding, just the bad vibration in 1st gear.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Are you sure it's not a chattering clutch? I've had that in other cars over the years - was
always a clutch going out in my case.

    That's my guess too and I'll bet we're dead-on!

Try starting off in a higher gear and see if there's any slippage.
