Hey guys, not owning a F-car yet, does driving the car feel as though you just bought it and it never gets dull? It would seem that everytime I would drive it I would be saying to myself "man am I really driving a Ferrari!"

You mean sort of like having a Di Vinci signed print on your wall but showing it to only a few that would truly appreciate it? Yeah, I think its like that. But on the way to work you are amazing.

I've had mine for over 5 months and driving it is still special, if not perhaps as much as in the beginning. In particular, every time I accelerate away from a stop light or onto a freeway I'm reminded of the car's racing heritage. Once at speed it's not quite as exciting, but every so often I look down at the prancing horse on the horn button and remind myself, yes, I AM driving a Ferrari!

I just stopped at the local corner store w/ my 10 yr. old daughter and three guys jumped out of a Celica next to me and the first thing out of their mouth was, "dude, can I shake your hand?" "A f***ing Ferrari Testarossa.....kiiiiick ass." I talked to them for a bit and it made both our nights. The fun never wears off for me.

At times, it's just a car and you find yourself yawning and daydreaming just like driving a Toyota.

;-) No, not really. I kicks serious butt... every time I drive mine.

There is nothing like driving a Ferrari (owning a Ferrari). I admit that most of the time I love driving it whether I am going on a counrty drive or commuting to work. But there are times that people are unkind and the attention is not what I like to have when I am driving. And I do wish people that are so excited at seeing a Ferrari would also pay attention to their driving.

But even with some of this kind of unwanted attention it still is a terrific experience. And most of the time the attention is good. I am always smiling when I am finished driving it and yes the guy driving the car is having more fun than the people watching it go by.

    Safe travels.

It's a ritual every time I roll out of my driveway ('77 308). Every turn and every straight is a new adventure. Encompassed in a marque that is an honor to drive, listening to the throaty rumble of the engine. All of this for under $30K can't be beat!

I've owned a Modena and then a nearly-the-same Stradale for years now...

    • I have yet to tire of just walking up to the Ferrari... the thing is just so damned gorgeous from every angle.
    • I have yet to tire of climbing into the Ferrari... the purpose-built look and the great racing seats that swallow you in.
    • I have yet to tire of the start-up ritual... finicky, almost like a secret handshake... then it grumbles to life like a grumpy athlete still sore from the previous day's workout... but you can feel it come into its own as it warms up... there's nothing distant, soft, or numb about the feel of a Ferrari.
    • I have yet to tire of the sound of an F1 downshift... I look for opportunities to downshift... I grin a little every time.
    • I have yet to tire of the sound of the car when you turn it loose... the sound is just incredible... musical and muscular... thrilling and stimulating.

If I have yet to tire of any of those little "incidentals", such that they get boring... then the driving experience... the power delivery, the handling, the feel of the road through the steering wheel and seat, and so on... is even further from getting boring. I don't think it'll ever happen!!

I think that you never forget that you are driving an f-car for long as you are constantly reminded by passers by as they stare and wave, nod, smile etc. I moved up form a 911 and the experience is different in that this car is MUCH more comfortable to drive but still feels special.

There's an old saying that goes: "That which is excellent, is new forever."
Every time I get in the car, I'm still as excited as the first time. Never fails.

I agree. I also think people that appreciate what they have and really enjoy driving and know how to drive don't get tired of their cars either. The first time I test drove my 308, I was like man, this thing is awesome! A lot of people think these cars are slow and are trash. I just don't think they know how to get the performance out of the vehicle.
