Can anyone tell me what restaurants/places to go that is a must see? Thank you
So many places to see on the French Riviera, where to start with ? Depends on what kind of places you 're looking for : 1rst class executive, or more true places ? In any cases, closer from the seashore you are higher is the level and more "superficial" it is. And further you go in the country side, more interesting it begins : Saint Paul de Vence is a place to be seen among others (because of famous painters : Picasso, Matisse...). For instance you have two Nice : the old Nice with its beautifull places, outdoor market, shopes, small streets... and the one in front of the sea, beautifull as well but more blink blink oriented. Go on a nice terrasse on the old harbour of Nice, and have a good seafood meal. Or go to Hotel de Paris in Monaco to reach top level restaurant in town. As you can see, on 200KM stripe you get all the best for dreaming holidays, from St Troppez to Menton and Monaco, as far as it is not in July/August due to holidays period in France and it's over crowded. Famous hotel arround (including Cannes) : Negresco and Martinez.
thanks..just made reservations at a hotel called Hotel Grand Aston. Has anyone heard of it/stayed there?
Are you going to the GP? My wife I are headed to the GP. I too may need some nice restaurants etc... We are staying at the Plaza Boscolo or something.... I cant wait!!! My First time to the Riveria. Nice is a great place to stay IMO! And so is the rest of the Cote d'Azur! Lot's of nice restaurants for everyone's taste to discover... Don't skip a walk on the Promenade des Anglais... and certainly plan a trip to Monaco! Above all, enjoy your stay in Europe! a map of Nice; http://www.plan-nice.org/ some restaurants; http://195.101.194.238:1081/%23%23375851068.1/4Ddataentry/3/24/ Le Merdien restaurant; http://www.lemeridien.com/france/nice/restaurants_fr1606.shtml Nice info; http://www.nice-coteazur.org/ Monaco info; http://www.monaco.mc/index.shtml
This is a great thread. My girlfriend and I are going to St. Tropez on the 17th and then to Nice on the 19th. We're going to the GP on the 22nd. Then off to Milan and going to Maranello for the big tour at the factory on the 24th. It would be great to meet up w/ any other Fchatters while we're there.
WOOOOOOOOOOW, that sounds like THE perfect rip! Enjoy, have lots of fun & take care of your girlfriend.
Jerry, We will be in Nice on the 20th leaving for ROME on the 23 and then onto Greece. If you want to hook up for drinks and that not let me. We are 35 and 28 Sitting in Grandstand K. MM
Thanks for all the help, I actually changed the hotel that I'm staying at. My wife and I are now staying at the Le Meridien. We get in on the 34th and will in Nice until the 27th, then off to Paris until June. If any Fchatters will be in or around the area, let me know. I am meeting up with a fellow Fchatter from NYC, Schultzois, that is actually a good friend. We just happened to be in Nice at the same time. Would love to meet up for drinks or club with any other Fchatters. We definitely will be running to Monaco. Also to Cannes for the film festival. The wife is an actress but no GP
A decent (and quite romantic) place for food is at la Chevre d'or. I guess it's on the moyenne corniche, in Eze, its between Nice and Monaco. Very lovely.
Hi Wolfgang, This will be our first time to Monaco! we are fcar owners and would love to take a photo with the cars if possible, Can you please suggest a way for us to see the cars or the pits? You were highly recommended!!! THANK YOU!! MM
Wolfgang, we're gonna have a blast I'm sure. Looking forward to meeting fellow fchatter markymark. Will you be there as well?
