I have had my 348TS for a about 2 months and ~300 miles. I have to say Roberto took SUCH good care of it...I have been asked several times if it was new. I also got an exceptional deal on a FOLDING targa top from Jasperd in the Netherlands, it looks brand new as well. His communication was exceptional, and he was very helpful through the whole deal. I would not hesitate to do business with either Roberto or "Jasperd" in the future.

    A few Questions:

    * Roberto told me, but I forgot how, my RPM idle is ~1500-1800. The car came from about 1800ft elevation to ~7000ft. What is the procedure to get the idle down?

    * How do you shut the heater/AC COMPLETELY off??

    * I have a oil change coming up in April, what all do I need to do it myself? (# of quarts, tools, best source for filters...??)

    * The rear window looks like is has very fine wire in the glass, is that the defroster?

    * Who designed the armrests?? My arms slides off them! Anyone else notice this? What the heck?

    * Finally, HOW do you set the darn clock?

Thanks, I am really enjoying this forum!

You can adjust the idle air bypass screws; check out No Doubt's site, my348.com, for the procedure.

Hit the lower left-hand button and make sure the fan is turned all the way down.

Get a case of your favorite oil (I like Redline 5W40); that will give you enough for the change - 9 or 10 quarts, depending on how well you drain the system, and a couple of spare quarts for topping up. Ricambi can hook you up with an oil change kit. Only OEM oil filters (Puriflux) work, Ricambi has them and all the crush washers, etc. you will need.

The car has arm rests? I just thought they were a cool design element in the door panels, lol!

Do you see the two little indents/dimples in the lower right-hand corner? Stick a small item (like the end of a 2mm allen key) into the left-hand dimple and gently press; the clock will start to flash. Then press the right-side dimple to cycle through the hours. Press the left side again to switch to minutes, right side to set minutes. Left side again switches to seconds, right side to zero them out. Click the left once more and the time is set.

Cool that you are getting into the DIY aspect of your car, enjoy!

There could be a possible other answer to your idle problem .....If your clock needs to be set, it probably means the battery was low during starting the engine, this could have erased the ECU memories and if you drove the car right away the gas mix could be richer or leaner. This problem should fix it's self during the learning period of the ECU's with more drives ... If this is the reason.
I would give a try to reset the ECU's first.
Follow the procedure ... it's really simple and you got nothing to lose by trying this.
From completely cold engine, unplug the battery and re-connect about 10 minutes later.
Start the engine with everything off and let it idle until the cooling fans start.
Now set the clock and the radio setting and go for a drive.
If this fix the idle and stays at 1000 rpm, that was probably your problem. Remember, If you drive the car as high as 7000 feet altitude the idle will stay high, but when you come back home it should go back to 1000 rpm. I have noticed this during drives to Mount Charleston here in Vegas besides a little loss of power when at high altitude.
Regarding all of your other questions, dude you have the owner manual that will answer all ... LOL.
Let us know how it goes ...

    PS
make sure to keep your battery charged if you don't drive the car at least weekly.

another way to turn of the heater and A/C compressor is to hit the button that has a depiction of an S-curved arrow coming through the bottom of the windshield and entering the interior. This will allow outside ambient air into the cabin through the facia vents, if you have them open.

For setting the clock, I use a tooth pick so as not to scratch the little dimpled buttons.

x2 regarding your idle. 90% of every problem I ever had was solved by resetting the ECUs. Rather than "unplug" the battery, however, just use the battery switch. In my '91, it was on the left side of the engine bay.
