They say there are hundreds of Ferraris in HK. Yet I hardly ever see them. Hardly hear from them on this board and hardly EVER see them on the track. WTF is going on? Are these owners just rich old men who never use their FCar? Have I joined the ranks of the boring old fart club? Vent over.

Yeah, I don't run across them that often either. I think most HK F-car owners don't surf the web and participate the way we do.

As far as tracks go, if it's organized by the FOC then they will go. Even if they go to non-FOC track events, chances are they will just leave their Ferraris behind and toss around cheaper cars.

Oh, I'm sure there are more than 200 Ferraris in HK. For what it's worth my racing buddy and I will be racing two 360 Challenge this season in the Aisia GT series against all the GT3s. There should also be a Stradale campaigned by a well known Mr. Ma in the series. First event 4/8 in Shanghai. Should be fun. As for FOC of HK it's true it holds far less events than say FOC of Japan.

wow... I was shock when i first read this topic...
because i personally think that hong kong has way more ferrari than only 200
I won't even be shock if the figure is 500-900.
    Here is one interesting fact:
Every 10,000 people in Hong Kong, 1 person would own a ferrari, this is interest because Hong Kong have the highest person owning a ferrari than any other places on Earth.
So... If hong kong have 7 million people, then there should be approximately at least 700 Ferraris in Hong Kong... and i wasn't suprise because I went to Hong Kong during the last Christmas and in my short 9 days trip, I saw over 50 ferraris and a bunch of other exotic cars......
    and here are some proof:

Ah, you'll be racing my Buddy Tom Cham in his Elise. We're praying for rain so he has a chance against all you guys. They've put him in the same class as the GT3s!!! Go figure.

Elise is a very light car, so if his car has a powerful engine then it should be able to run with us very competitively. Look forward to racing with him.

I think Mathew Marsh with his new GT3RSR will be the one to beat this year.

Yup, Matthew was testing a couple of weeks back when I was there in my 355. I think you were there too in your 360C.

There are definitely more than 1,000 Ferraris in Hong Kong. I guess it should be around 1,500.00. There had been more than 100 orders on the new 430 over here.

This summer I think. Sadly, a lot of the older Ferraris have been shipped out of HK to Australia and other places.

Hey, Henry, you are in my neck of woods. Whereabouts in TM are you?

You are absolutely right Jon. This one is actually available for sale at list price and you don't have to queue up if you let the IMSS to be used as a test drive car for 1 to 2 months

    Will you?

If i could afford it i would for sure only if the car was not tracked up in Zhu hai. A friend bought the Demo Gallardo from Kingsway and he saved money on the car but still i heard it was tracked twice during its Demo period.

Hey you guys should know that there were at least 125 Ferraris at the worlds biggest Ferrari parade in March last year for the Po Leung Kuk Child Sponsorship at the racecource. And I don't even reside or visit HK!!

Where then are all the others owners and their cars? If I was a Ferrari owner in HK I would only be too proud to show off my car be it an Enzo or a Mondail at such a great charity event. To be quite honest to see all those cars together would also bring tears to my eyes!!

Those of you reading these threads may recognise my name and I have no intention of hijacking the thread however maybe my car (Remember the black 348 Spyder with 43 hits and no feedback) was one of these cars which never appeared in public so to speak from Feb 1994 up until it was exported back to the UK in April 2003. Really strange to believe as after 9 years in HK it had covered 11,000 miles!!!

I can only agree with some earlier threads that the majority of HK owners do not know about this forum or just not that interested in participating. I find that rather sad don't you?

As we say in the South Wales Ferrari club "FORZA FERRARI" May the force be with you.

Regards to all you REAL Ferrari enthusiasts in HK who participate in these forums.

Spot on John! We had a Tsunami charity drive this year too. About 20 F-Cars. That's it. Makes me sick to my stomach....

Yeah, I was there at the parade last year. Was supposed to go into the Guiness Book of World Records. To this date, it's not even mentioned in the Guiness Book.

Really?? I didn't know about that one. Guess it wasn't that highly publicized. But then, I am not an FOC member.

It was organized by the HKAA. I only knew about it cos of the Lotus Elise club but I drove my 355. The FOC were there but only 20 cars. It really does suck that the FOC is SO poorly organized in HK.

I think the reason for not mention in the Guiness Book, is that we are not American.

Do you know the one driving a very fast F-355 from Wanchai to Central before the event start?

Looks like the HK FOC is letting the Marque down badly.
At the last run out the S. Wales Club had with the Cotswold Club there were 30 F cars in attendance.
(Plenty of videos taken under the UK site Cotswold threads)
I was unfortunately not there but a great time was had by all. Our only excuse for not taking out the F cars is too much salt/snow/ice on the road. I don't believe you suffer from these annoyances over in HK. I still can't get my head round why there are so few F out and about and even fewer owners and followers participating in the threads.

    Hey that's it.
    a) Maybe they haven't the time to drive their cars as they're too busy raking it in and
    b) They're computer illiterate!

Maybe these threads will shake em into action providing they know how to switch the one eyed monster on!!

Have a good weekend to the real Ferrari fraternity.

    Onwards and Upwards

I guess I am one of the few here that really takes the F-car out. In fact, I am going out for another drive tomorrow AM, after logging about 100 miles (quite a feat in HK) yesterday with 3 other F-chat buddies.

I think most owners here don't even know this board exists!
