Yep at Parkview.
I come to Hong Kong very often and would love to meet some Ferraristi. Likewise I would extend the courtesy of a top speed run in Italy in my new 360 cs or my Clk amg . My only question is where do you get a chance to drive the car- it would seem that the road to the airport would be the best in early morning.
It all depends what you consider a fun drive. Driving in a straight line flat out is fun for about 10 mins. As for twisty, hilly roads, we have loads of them. We also have SO many tunnels it's crazy. So sound wise, we probably have the best roads (tunnels) in the world...
Thats more in one day than I've seen in the last year. Even the Police with lazers have been pretty quiet of late. In regards to the fake camera's, next time your driving through the tunnels have a close look! They are tied to a door with rope and are cheap plastic copies. If you still have doubt's watch how fast the mini-bus's drive through the western harbour tunnel.
Western Tunnel has live cameras. My V1 always picks up readings there. Whether they actually take pics or not is questionable. I haven't seen them flash before.
you mean inside the tunnel right? i usually take the western tunnel home after work each day, they normally place two cameras inside the tunnel, my crapy radar is able to pick them up but dont know it failed to pick up the speed camera on our way to shek o on sunday!!! my aunty is coming back from the states in may, i will try to get her to bring me a v1
On the way toward the Hong Kong side. The last camera is the one that works. I have seen it flashed behind a mini-bus.
yep in one of our morning drives, some of us were driving on the far right lane on tolo highway, when a frined of mine tried to catch up with us, where he took the inside lane to overtake some of other cars, where he was caught by a speed camera so quite clearly the camera wont cover that far!
seem like many are from aus! actually i spent 10 years in syd between 87-97 to study high school and uni such a nice place always wanted to go back there to live!!
someone got caught in the left most lane? even with traffic in the right most lane? that's impossible.... the right hand lane cars would have been obstructing the view. are you sure he did'nt get nailed in the right hand lane? are you talking about the tunnel or the highway?
i was talking about on the tolo highway on our way to tai po, where the camera was situated on the left i was on the far right lane, he tried to catch up with us, so he took the inside lane (ie. left lane) and i saw a flush, it cant be the cars on the far right lane cos we were way ahead of him, so i guess the speed cameras cant reach that far but he was lucky cos he never receive the ticket, either it caught more than 1 car in the photo or somehow his no. plate was obstructed by other traffic
ok, that explains it. we were talking just about tunnels. on another note though, the reason they stick those signs up saying you'll be prosecuted for staying in the very right hand lane of highways is that the fixed speed cams cannot reach the outside lane. all those ones going to the airport are useless in you're in the outside lane.
Ultimo - you can't blame it on the bikes. I used to be out regularly sunday mornings on two wheels & it is the cars that are the most dangerous. Very rarely (if at all) do see the bikes straighting the corners - we all know who will come off worse ! In terms of speed both 2 wheels & 4 are well over the limit... I live in Shek O & I regularly see F-car's flying down the road in excess of 100km (50km limit). .. aswell as porsches, lambos & the Jap brigade !!
Well i suppose some of us can be quite irresponsible when it comes to guessing it...blame it on hearing I have a website that regularly host videos of cars garnered from all over the world.... Enjoy http://www.super-tutors.net/car.htm
So you're saying Camera situated on the LEFT hand shoulder can't cover speeders on the right most lanes? I know Tolo got multi lanes but I would find it hard to believe. Would really defeat the purpose of those camera if they can't even reach the right most lanes which is possibly the most frequently used lanes for speeding...
from my experience...yes!! i guess one of the reasons is that there are lots of traffic flowing between the far right lane and the camera sitting on the left shoulder on the highway, which could cos interference also i guess the radar could not reach "that" far or even if it would be inaccurate anyway
