200 years from now when Ferrari is no longer and it is illegal to own an internal combustion engine, which Ferraris are going to stand out in the historic automotive books as the most beautiful?

I am thinking the 250GTO for the early cars from it's beauty and racing success.

For the newer Ferraris I would say the 288GTO for it's beautiful design. While most of us look at the Enzo or F40 as our favorites just remember that the history books are just going to show the stats and pictures of the cars. Some of us might not like the controversial styling of the Enzo or the way the F50 rides but they won't know that in the future. So it is just from pictures. I think that these two GTO's will go down as the most beautiful Ferraris.

    What do you think?

That the planet can not support a 600% increase in population ever fifty years and as such the human race will be long gone in 200 years. There are not enough resources to feed 30,000,000,000 people, and if we cut down forests to create farmland, we have no oxygen. Modern medicine is going to be our downfall not our savior.

The 246 Dino is up there for me, as is the 512TR. The 250GTO and 250TR also stand out.

This is beyond absurd, although if it's a joke it's pretty entertaining.

Thats great 19th century logic. This is actually the 21st C and we have things called rockets that can go to places like the Moon and Mars and the asteroid belt and bring back SO MANY resources that they could easily support 60 Billion humans.

What we need are enlightened leaders who make the leap before we hit the wall. There are none in politics in the US. There seem to be some in China though, so maybe learning some Chinese may be good for us

Who cares, I'd be 236, chances are my grandchildren will be dead by then. Cars may a forgetten by then, maybe people will be traveling like the Jetsons. Ask a 10 year old about 8 track tapes....forget technology.

I like where your head's at!

Extending this down the line, Ray Kurzweil posits that we will be able to scan our brains in a non-invasive manner, and perpetuate our consciousness and the human race in software. Being able to reason and cogitate in software, running on hardware orders of magnitude faster than our brains, we should be able to come up with the solutions to the problems that plauge the human race!

Now if we can only hold out another 50, 100 years... :)

Oh yeah, my vote: 512TR. Something that stands out from all the rest. As more and more cars are manufactured, and the "space" of possibilities of vehicle designs progresses, in general the lines of distinction among various shapes will blur, and they really will all look very similar. The very old cars (racers of the 50s) IMO do not represent the shape that epitomizes Ferrari; these just didn't have an impression on society except for enthusiasts. Now the Testarossa shape? That is a shape that we'll never, ever see again (IMO), and one that nothing really every approached. It's distinct and should remain so!

200 years from now, after having downloaded into a brand new cyborg body when my original carbon-based one was crapping out, I will hop in the old 308 chassis, fire up the aftermarket muon-catalyzed cold fusion powerplant and make a quick 30 minute jaunt from Los Angeles to the Las Vegas spaceport to see my great-great-great grandkids. As usual, they will give me crap because I'm always driving these old, slow beat-up late 20th century relics.

It will be nice not to have to fuss with tires after the antigravity unit I got from an Fchat sponsor is installed.
