I would like to purchase a low mileage (under 10,000 miles) 2000 or 2001 Ferrari 550 in Titanium with a Tan interior and was wondering if anyone knew of a car like this being for sale. I've seen a number of pre 2000 in this color combination but not the 2000/2001 model. Thank you

like you mentioned, there are a few pre '00s available. I know of a cherry '98 with major just done, etc. if you like for a great price.

Any reason you're going with a '00/01? I have both a 97 and an '00, and while the '00 is new to me, the 97 has been rock solid.

Why low milage? All the mechanics that I know say get a car that has been driven not a garage queen. Good luck. Make sure all the recalls have been done.

Let me preface my response by saying that I have never owned a Ferrari, so my knowledge is very limited on the pre 2000 vs 2000/ 2001 550's. I have a business contact at the Maserati Hdqtr's in Italy and mentioned that I was interested in a used 550 and could he check with his contacts at Ferrari and find out if there were any model years that may have been a problem and to stay away from those years. The response back from the factory was there were not any problem model years per se, but the 2000/2001 model years were significantly improved, just from the normal upgrading process and they quoted a number of 218 mechanical upgrades done on the 2000 model alone. As I said, I am a novice on this and would welcome any comments you have. Thanks, Paul
