    Hi,

My name is Steve. My life long dream of Ferrari ownership beacme reality last weekend when my wife gave me a beautiful 2000 550!! I must say I am a rookie in all ways Ferrari and have a question about my radio. I was so happy getting the car I was up most of that night reading the owners manual and learning about the car. I learned to turn the battery of under the hood but did not know that would make the radio not work without a code. I had the audio system book in my hands with the radio code writen inside the back cover by the last owner and now when I need it that is the only book I cannot find. How do I make my radio work? Can I bring it to the local dealership and have them do it? I don't want my wife to find out how dumb I am. Please point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

    Steve

Congrats Steve and welcome to the world of Ferrari ownership. Certainly take it over to the local dealer and start to get to know them. They will be happy to help you.

    Got some pics?

Steve, go to beckerautosound.com From there you can download a free manual for your stereo in pdf. format. You must have adobe on your computer. You can also get a code for 30 bucks on that web site if you know your serial number and model of radio ( i think you have model 4372). If you do not have the proper keys to remove the radio to get the serial number and model, you can go to any Mercedes dealership and buy a pack of two spare removal keys for about 5 bucks. make sure you get the right keys, they look like small knives with notches in the end. good luck and enjoy

Hey Steve, I second the call for pics! I have a 2000 too, although I had to give it to myself - not so lucky to have a wife, let alone one with the impeccable taste yours has. I think Fou has given the info I could have given, so good luck in making it work and have fun on Ferrarichat. There's great people here and lots of knowledge.
