    Welcome to FerrariChat, mlnevius. My 1999 550 had the same thing happening last December before I purchased the car. Classic Coach's upholstery technician recovered the airbag cover with dark blue leather from a bolt of period vintage leather they had in storage. The original leather cover was too stretched to be used again. I think that's the only remedy. The upholsterer can stamp "airbag" on the cover if you wish. I didn't bother having him do that.
