I purchased a gated 6sp euro-spec 2000 Spider (LHD) a couple of years ago with 18K miles. It has a clean CarFax and a reasonably coherent service record for the past 10 years. It's now super clean with many replaced OEM interior, exterior, and mechanical parts. But with one key and fob, and mismatched manuals, I'm trying to pull together as much of the original items for this car as possible. As an early euro-spec, I'm further challenged to get certain items...and yes, I realize it's not a 250 GT SWB!

It was imported into Miami, FL in 2002 and had service in Big Pine Key, FL for a couple of years and then was sold to an owner who had it serviced in the Atlanta area. The last six digits of the VIN are 122216.

If anyone item knows the whereabouts of any original manuals, radio cards, keys, fobs, etc. for this car, please private message me. I'm happy to compensate you well for your troubles.

    Thanks,
    John

Gobble can clone you fobs - a dealer can sell you a real key or a good locksmith one that will do the job

I think a friend can do you an original Euro owners manual and wallet - if interested send pm - the sales & service book is sometimes on Ebay or with specialist retailers - it depends what you define as 'mismatched'

Ebay will be likely your best bet for the manuals. A fob cane cloned by gobble. Is it a euro spec alarm or US spec alarm? Original key.. good luck. You can try eBay as well, sometimes the key might pop up.

The real question is, did the car come over with the manuals and documentation and was it sold with it to the importing owner... ? Mine is a 99' euro and I had a key and a US spec alarm fob that it came with. Sometimes the manual might pop up on ebay for a pricey sum.

I doubt you'll ever find it with the numbers intact. If you report the manual as stolen or missing, then if it has the VIN in it they'd have to give it back to you right? ;) If you look on ebay all the manuals have the VIN and identifying info missing.

My date of manufacture is 06/2000, and I'm unsure of when/where the manuals were changed or swapped out. They seem to be a set circa 2002, but I'm missing the service stamp book and vehicle specific documents like the radio code card, etc. There's a 2000 360 Spider set on Ebay for an F1 equipped car...

My manual set is as follows. Thoughts?:

    Owner’s Manual U.S. Version Model Year 2002 360spider - Edizione: Codice n° 67046400; Catalogo n° 1740/01; 1st Ed. Ottobre 2001

    User’s Manual 360modena 360spider- Edizione: Codice n° 67055000; Catalogo n° 1780/02; Data Febbraio 2002

Sales and Service Organization – Edizione: Codice n° 66622800; Catalogo n° 1758/01; Data Gennaio 2002

Consumer Information For Cars with Air Bag U.S. Version - Edizione: Codice n° 65927500; Catalogo n° 1476/99; Data Maggio 2002

Hi-Fi System – multi-language with no edition or date information, but it appears to be a European manual as it only reference Europe radio compliance standards and regulations (no FCC references for USA market)

    Alarm System - Edizione: Codice n° 67046800; Catalogo n° 1738/01; Data Settembre 2001

Also, any ideas on how to determine readily the alarm system frequency and distinguish a USA vs. EU fob?

If originally shipped to the EU, my understanding is that a subsequent USA fob conversion would require an ECU change.

If you open the key fob to change the battery, the frequency is noted on the circuit board IIRC. US are 315 MHZ, Euro are 433 mhz IIRC.
You are correct, for the frequency change an alarm ECU also has to be changed out.

Thanks vr. ECU change = :(
With respect to the manuals listed above, would you agree that all should be dated on/prior to the car's DOM of 06/2000?

Does anyone know if there is a typical lag between a DOM and a factory ship date (or whenever the manuals are married to the car)? For example, would a September manual be acceptable as original in my instance? Sorry for the OCD-like questions, but I tend to be very detail oriented :)

1614/00 or 1522/99 for sales & service - similar for a EUro owners & alarm manuals ie approximately prior to manufacture would be correct - also remember euro manuals do not change annually

Just a thought: was the spider even in production in June 2000 ?

Thanks skid. I did a little research last night and although I don't have an exact date it appears that 2000 model year production started in 1999.

Having never seen a full original set, I'd appreciate identification help. My understanding is that the vehicle came with three fobs: 1 red (master) and 2 black. Is this correct?

While I have your attention, I'm attaching a couple of pics of my one and only key fob. Is it an original?

The question was specific to Spiders. The Modena was being made in 1999 BUT the Spider didn't start production until 2000 and the first official Spiders brought to the US were 2001 models, regardless of production date. I am not sure they ever officially made a 2000 Spider; Hence the question. The best answer I can give is: it is my understanding that there were no 2000 Spiders but I know for sure they were in production during late 2000.
