Heading out in a couple weeks for some work meetings and was thinking of taking the Pista Spider. Round trip will be about 2000 miles - what's the longest anyone has done? Thoughts/advice? Longest single leg will be about 620 miles (9 hours). Just worried about seat comfort is really all (don't want to get 5 hours in and start dreading my decison!). Any real world experiences is appreciated. Plus will be fun to see who has actually DRIVEN theirs!

The joys of the usability of the current generation Ferrari. I’d never dream of such a journey in the 458.

Why not? Easily done in a 458. As long as you are not wearing a suit and a tie..I had the privilege of doing a few long trips with F40/Enzo/Stradale, getting stuck in hour long traffic etc and they and i were fine. The F40 was a bit short on leg room but other than that.. Not the cars id pick to do these kind of trip weekly but once or twice a year, absolutely.

I just don’t find long journeys in the car enjoyable. A lot of the reasoning is the lack of phone connectivity if I’m honest. But it certainly wouldn’t be an enjoyable experience. I’d much rather just storm a B road.

I’d recommend getting a small pillow to sit on. It lifts you up enough that you can wiggle your hips, otherwise I find the restrictive CF race seats lock me in tight enough to limit mobility and hips start to ache after 2-3 hrs.

If you decide to take the drive, give us feedback. I presume, a decision to take such a long Journey, would depend on your physical state regardless of the type of car you drive.

Just did a 2.5k trip in my 458 spider daytona seats. The longest stretch was 10 hours and was not bad just a little boring at times, the hardest part was left foot fatigue having no cruise control.

I am thinking of doing another 2k trip in October but the drive to the start of the rally/drive is 15hrs which is right at the limit of my endurance for driving.

I regularly do 5 or 6 hours in my 430 spider with Daytona seats. I find it quite comfortable. If my wife is with me, we usually end up putting the top in place around hour 3.5. She gets fatigued from the wind noise and the sun. (I'm half deaf, so I'm immune, haha)

I do long for cruise control at some moments, depending on the drive.

It should be a great trip. Personally , I would use Sport Setting with Bumpy Road engaged. Should be a wonderful journey. The Pista is such an exciting car.
    Have fun, good luck.

That's easy. You'll be fine. Spent 10 hours in the Pista Spider and did that distance over 4 days. It's a bu
It noisy, but not too bad.

I always feel so odd when people talk about their 300-400 km trip as if it was a spectacular distance. I'll do that just gor a nice lunch. Leave at 9:30 eat at 12:30 home by 17:00 or so. Love going for a drive and a lunch.

There are also days where you spend 3-4 hours on track with a 2.5 hour drive in each end.

    Good times:)

Drive your car, that will give you the most joy:)

Our Pista Spider has been from UK to Swiss Alps and back, about 2,500 miles. Longest leg around 8 hours, no problem. Wonderful car in the mountains!

1200 miles done. Another 800 to go. So far I can’t complain...the car is great to drive on long drives. Sport seats are a bit firm so by the time you need more gas you are ready to get out and stretch your legs.

One thing to note - the lugs are 17mm Allen socket and it is NOT included anywhere in the car. So when you hit a giant pothole and get a flat, only to find yourself at a tire place in the middle of nowhere and they don’t have the socket size you’re left walking to other dealerships to find one. Ask me how I know. Seriously, pack a 17mm Allen socket just in case.

That can’t be true can it? I don’t even think it’s legal in UK to sell a car without a means of getting the wheels off. I’m pretty sure the socket is in one of the frunk packs?

A professional tyre shop without a 17mm allen top. Please tell me you're having us on. They should be taking the walk, because that is one seriously ill.prepared shop.

It is not included. The regular F8 and 488 bolts are standard hex tops. The ti luges are allens. Jus
There is no law. Why would there be? If you have a flat, what would be the point of removing the wheel when you don't have a spare? You don't get a jack either.

Fs are made with metric bolts ... invest in a set of $ 100 and all problems are gone imo ...

I keep a 17mm socket in the frunk tool pouch for this reason, along with a tire plug kit

Thinking I should also keep a jumpstarter and the right allen key to unbolt the passenger footwell to access the battery in terms of preparedness too
