A few clarification questions regarding these three years.
    1. Is the 2003 better than the 2002 pertaining to the Cambiocorsa? I think the 2004 is better for sure from what I heard.
    2. What is so bad about the manual transmission? I've heard they don't have the best feel and feel rubbery, but are they okay other than that?
Any other significant changes/upgrades made between these three years would be appreciated. I'm thinking of getting one next year. It will be between the Maserati, a Lotus Esprit, or Ferrari 308 or 328.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    hello,

maserati, lotus esprit, ferrari 308/328? well at least you have a broad range to look for.

as an owner on none but a connesuer of all, i think you should contact a dealership that has experience in all. and per your location, that would be continental autosports. i'm sure you are familiar with them.

i have heard mixed reviews about early maser's cambio's being rough. i hope you are looking for a 2.2 liter lotus esprit (89'-95') much better cars than the V8 from what i've heard. i think the 308 is not in this catagory. and with a handle of 88mondial, i don't have to tell you about the 328.

if i had -$50K to spend, i'd look seriously at the maserati. but the lotus esprit 2.2 (89'-95') has always done it for me. if theres a better looking car on this planet, i havent seen it

talk to autosports. they sold lotus for years, and maserati since 2002. you already know about their history with ferrari.

    regards,

    joe

www.maseratiforum.net will show you a lot of the answers that you are looking for. Plenty of "CC versus manual" type of threads. Most seem to prefer the manual if there is a lot of stop and go city driving including reverse parking, but the CC for any other type of driving.
The CC has been altered through the years to improve smoothness, but some actually prefer the 2002 for quickness and less clutch wear.
The manual has been changed also in 2993.

owned an esprit turbo before, stay away from it, just a glorified english kit car.

can't go wrong with 308, 328, 348 or Maserati. Go for the 4200, awesome engine.
