Any Vanquish owners out there? I am looking at prices nationwide and I am now seriously considering a 02-03 and wanted to hear about driving & ownership experiences (quirks, repair costs, quality, etc) now that they are ~7yo cars. I was reading somewhere that the cars weren't ready for prime time when they were orinally introduced and I've noticed several that are on the market have leather lifting/separation on the door panels - but they sure look nice.

I recently picked up a late 2002 (October) for less than $80K with 9K miles to use as a daily driver. My prebuy research showed the same door panel flaw and that is why you see the late 2003's with a scallop pattern instead of the plain pattern to combat the lifting off of such a large concave surface. Other issues appear to be with the transmission, namely the small rod that the electric actuator rubs against to shift gears. They apparently beefed that up in the newer cars, I think by a different hardening method. Other differences I don't think came about until the Vanquish S with some dash upgrades. Of course there have been software upgrades over time. I think they are great driving cars. I drove various years of this car and found that for me the pre-Vanquish S cars are a little more comfortable for daily driving as the increase power of the S causes a more abrupt sensation during shifting. Otherwise they are very similar drivers. On the AMOC site there are several people with high mileages on their Vanquishes that seem to have had good experiences.
