    Conclusion

This is a fairly rare car. It’s for those enthusiasts that want a stick, something timeless and curvy like the classic Ferrari’s, and something that will still stand out in a sea of red. This 360 Modena is not like many out there. It is RED. But it’s a very special red. Rosso Barchetta was not available as a standard color in 2002. It was considered an Out of Range color that came with an additional cost. Rosso Barchetta matches the paint that Enzo Ferrari selected for his first factory racecars. So the pedigree is there on top of the pedigree.

The options on this car are also very rare and sought after. The Leather wrapped Carbon Fiber seats alone are worth around $10k on the open market, if you could even find a pair. And these are sized in LARGE which is also a very difficult size to find with most being medium. So if you are over 150 pounds and are in any kind of shape, you will need these Large seats to fit properly. But they are comfortable and wrap your body with a lower position so the whole driving experience is upped to 11. No rolling around like in the Daytona’s… And you feel like you are sitting “IN” the car, rather than “ON” the car. Kind of essential once you have tried the sport seats, you’ll never look at Daytona’s the same way.

Ferrari imported 469 Coupes into North America from 1999 and 2005 that had a manual gated gearbox – the stick. These weren’t purchased by Brittany Spears or other Hollywood actors. The car in this spec was sought after by true enthusiasts that could drive well, heel and toe, and looked for that ultimate connection for the driver to the road. You absolutely have this here. There are only two 360 Modenas that were special ordered in Rosso Barchetta in a stick. Both ironically in 2002. Both with carbon seats. This car with a black interior. The other with one in tan…. But this car is the only one that checked the Scuderia fender shields box. And the shields really complete the extra details on this car and color. You know you want the shields… and this unique spec. There are a few other Modenas in the color but they have F1 gearboxes. So if you are looking for a stick and shields in this color – look no further. Add the Large Carbon Seats and you can see that this car is pretty rare and a very desirable unicorn.

This car has been pampered from day one with an open checkbook approach by owners that only worried about making sure it was always in the best shape possible and it shows. This car had the extended warranties on the car every year FNA offered them. You can see in the Maintenance history with all the records that the car had regular belt services with any wear parts addressed any time needed. The car has had a Ceramic Pro coating applied to the paint after a paint correction and it shows. The condition of the car both aesthetically and mechanically is outstanding. It could easily win the new owner an award at any FCA event if that was something you wanted to do. The only real item that could draw eyebrows would be the 46k mileage – but in this spec you’d pay $120K for a much lower mileage example. But if you see the car, and drive the car knowing how well it has been pampered, it has obviously taken care of its owners and they paid it back in their love for the car. The cars driven regularly have less problems with everything working as it should. This one was never abused and it shows all over. 4 longer-term owners on the clean carfax with 2 dealers flipping it during the bubble for a profit.

I bought the car to enjoy at the Ferrari Club’s annual event in AZ and to take on some road trips with my mom as she is getting older. I wanted to share my love of Ferrari with her. It absolutely fit the bill. I took care of several maintenance and aesthetic items that the car needed to restore it to OEM – how it left the factory - and bring it to the next level.

I have several Ferrari’s in the garage and would like to experience a few more along the way including a 12 cylinder. So it’s time to pass this winner onto the next caretaker to enjoy.

This car is missing nothing. It has all of the original parts and accessories. So for those that are crazy about originality, you can have your cake and eat it too with this car. Its ready now for a concours on the grass with regular detailing. And it’s ready for the best driving and ownership experience possible so that you don’t look like anyone else.

If you are looking for a complete car and one that you can proudly put in your collection, look no further. We started with a good Ferrari – it is now a great Ferrari. It’s now up to the new owner to pick and choose how to enjoy. The sky is the limit.

I could put the car on BAT (Bring-a-Trailer) but then the buyer would be out another 4-5k in fees as this is a very desirable car and it’s priced right at the market level. I’d rather be reasonable with the price (I’m looking to break even and happy to share my receipts) and let a serious buyer come straight to me to see if it’s a good fit. I think you will see what this car has that the other cars on the market do not – not just on the color and spec, but on what has been taken care of mechanically and aesthetically that all these cars need and that few have...

    Pricing - $ 90,000

Contact me for further information. Happy to send the scanned one inch- plus of records for your review. You would not be disappointed.

The car deepens its color in shade and changes with different lighting.

I will add more images of the interior and engine bay on Saturday. I just arrived back in Arizona from a week on the road. But I can assure you the inside is just as pretty as the outside. Thanks again for your interest. Stay Tuned.

Interior is a very nice place to spend time

The plastics were refinished and all laser etched for many thousands of dollars. This was not done by someone with a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a case of beer in their garage... Nothing wrong with that, but you do get what you pay for. The tactile surfaces on all of these switches, vents, and dials makes driving the car a top notch experience. These won't ever get sticky again and you can just get in and drive.

The driver's seat leather is in excellent condition. The owners understood the proper way to enter the seat without really scraping. Only a few marks from jean buttons on the right side of the driver's seat and one in the center. There is only a faint wear edge on the bolster but much better than most other seats out there. The passenger seat has no real marks. The leather is soft and the seats are supportive but not bone jarring. Some of my favorite seats in any of my cars for comfort. They connect you to the car. No real marks on the carbon.

Transparent Costs on the car during my ownership to show buyers what is generally needed on almost all of these cars at 20 years. Those bargains people may see as comparable really aren’t apples to apples after you look at this realistic list of needs and what requires sorting out:

    Purchased 9/1/2019

    Car - $ 76,000 after $2500 back in extra sold non-oem parts.
    Lower & Alignment - $1,200
Refinish interior sticky pieces part 1 - $2,272.50
Refinish Rest of interior sticky pieces part 2 - $1,629
Add one Fob and retrieve alarm pin - $450
    Extra Key silver - $275
Extra Key Red and cut - $200
Locksmith cut extra key - $10
    Refinish old key - $120
Replace Door latches and cables - $600
Labor on Door latches - $400
    New Battery - $250
    4 Brake pads - $350
    4 Brake rotors - $320
2 Center lower console Blank plates - $25
    Ash tray insert - $40
Replace Drivers Floor mat - $45
Solid rear grill painted - $600
Labor - Rotors / pads / Brake calipers / return to black from swapped yellow set - $400
    Oem exhaust - $600
Polish exhaust pipes and tips - $125
    Tubi Headers - $3850
Labor on Header and exhaust install - $2,000
    Luggage - $1600

    Total - $ 93,361.50

There is some extra time and labor I’m sure I left out but you get the idea. It is a great 360 ready for the new owner to enjoy and not have to fix.
