Hi everyone, I have just recently purchased a 2002 Ferrari F1 360 Spider. This morning when I went to start it. Within the first 2 minutes after start up while it was still ideling, the RED SLOW DOWN light was flashing. I used my OBDII Generic scan tool and scanned for codes. It listed a current pending code whic is P0427 (Catalyst Tempature Sensor Low Imput Bank 1). Please give me any advice you might have. I do not know the history of the car and do not have records. It is stock with the exception of a ANSA 360 Exhaust system with possible Hi Flow cats I believe as well.

I have the exact same issue - completely frustrating because clearly within a few minutes of start up there is no way anything is overheated.

I've had the pyros checked and yet it still happens...start up, 2-3 min later "SLOW DOWN" appears until it "burns off" for lack of a better term, about 5 minutes after it first appears.

I too have a generic OBDII and have cleared it as well...ironically the Check Engine Light does NOT come on all the time, but when "SLOW DOWN" happens more than 2x a day, the Check Engine Light appears.

I'd have to imagine (and hope) it is just instrumentation...will have it looked at next time I make a service appointment.

Mine triggered the check engine light on and now it is a hard code. while driving home the car seem to only have half the power because of this issue.

And i do agree that I am not overheating any of my exhaust components because the light begins to flash while everything is still cold.

I had that problem as well when I had an aftermarket exhaust and a non-matching ECU flash. My specific issue was I had first installed a full exhaust, headers back and had the flash for that, but replaced the headers with a new set with air rails to get rid of the CEL. It did, but then I had the SLOW DOWN until I had a matching ECU flash for the new setup. Proper image in the computers and I was clean from both CEL and SLOW DOWN.

Im assuming that the previous owner did infact have the ecu flash done when he did the upgraded exhaust, however, if not how can I tell?, who can do it?, and what are the approx. costs? Thanks.

One bank of 4 cylinders has probably shut down. Call your service pro and see if you should have it towed in for repair.

That is normal behavior when it thinks the cat is overheating. It goes into limp mode. You aren't stranded but it runs for sh.....

Cat ECUs fail all the time and have on every Fcar ever made. See if Cat ECU has black epoxy. That would indicate old style. New ones are green. Call Ricambi America and order a replacement. It would be wise to have it checked by a professional first.

Where is the Cat ECU located in the 360? I will check to see if the epoxy is black or green. Thanks.
