I have come across a Rosso Corsa 2003 360 F1 Spider with 12,000 miles. The dealer has advised me that it had its last belt service in October 2009 and that the clutch has 25-30% life left. It is a 2 owner car that has Daytona seats, Tubi exhaust, no shields, standard rear grill and the car cover is missing. Overall, the salesman claims the car is in great shape with no accidents or paint work.

I would have to fly out to this dealer to see the car (a real hassle during the winter) and I'm wondering if it is worth the trip. Does this clutch have any real world life in it? How much should I expect to pay to do the clutch job? Is this percentage number low enough to use to negotiate the price down or have the dealer perform the work at a discount?

Do a search and you will find average prices for the clutch job which it will need most likely by week 1 of ownership. Clutch IMO is gone. You have to add this into price or have them deduct from sales price. I like the sound of the latter or better yet, if you like the car have them do the job as part of the deal. The rear grill can be added but lack of shields would be a dealbreaker for me.

Belts will be ok for another 2 years and that is a 2500-3000 job from what I understand.

Make sure you really like this particular car and are getting a decent deal before going to a lot of trouble to check it out.

I dont own a 360 but did a lot of looking and research.
