Hey guys Am preparing my car for judging and the rims were chipped up. I had a place local to me redo the wheels in powdercoat. Got the wheels back and they look fantastic, but they're a hair darker than i expected. Definitely darker than what the rims were prior. Was told that the wheels had at least 3 coats of urethane paint on them that they saw during stripping. Thus, they had been redone at least three times previous to my ownership. The place looked up my paint code for the wheels based upon my VIN, so that put me at ease but they still look a hair darker than what i am used to seeing. Was told there were three different shades of grey Ferrari used for the 360 wheels. Will try and post pic in a few. I just don't want to lose any points on my wheels during judging after spending a decent amount of money getting them redone. All the wheels i see on 360's have more silver/lighter shade to them but that doesn't mean that's what they looked like when new. Any insight very much appreciated. Thanks.
The rim on the left was bent and on the car when i bought it. It looks way to light to be original, but i posted it with the other redone rim for reference. Thanks fellas. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
Thanks. I like the color too but i am getting the car judged on originality so i want them to be the same color as the factory put on them. Thanks
Color on the mounted wheel looks more like Grigio Titanio than Argento Nurburgring/Argento Metalizzato (same color) like the originals. Original PPG paint code is 36520, so you might ask the shop what they used.
So you’re saying the factory paint on 360 wheels is Argento Nurburgring? Would certainly explain why they blend so well with my Argento Nurburgring car. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have a set of the 360 option modular wheels that I am looking to refinish. Is the paint code on them also PPG 36520? I have searched everywhere trying to find this out. Lots on the starfish wheels and the 19" CS option wheel, but nothing regarding the modulars. I even called BBS and they suggested its Brilliant Silver. Thanks in advance for your insight!
Latest thinking is that the BBS silver is slightly different from Argento Nurburgring, but it is pretty close.
