Hello all. I had about 50 miles on my new used car before it threw an F1 dash light and went into limp mode. Ferrari changed the RPM sensor. All is fine, another 25 miles and same F1 light. Limp mode again. Its crazy hot here like 110 degrees. The car would not start again but cranks.

Gear position sensor was broken and replaced. But still no start.
    What we tried:
    Change battery.
Key code immobilizer disable, via manual entering of ignition key turns.
    Launch code clearing.
    Lock unlock tricks.
    3 button fob push trick.
Fuses all tested good and clean.
    Hood, doors and trunk closed.
It sees main parent computer, but will not see slave.
    I have the following errors...
    P1630
    P0600
    021a7f18 refer to manual
    021aab08 refer to manual
    P1741/P1742 (POTENTIOMETER WAS REPLACED)
    P1710 clutch position sensor
    Not changed yet.
Launch says imobilizer is "active". Does that mean its present and disabling the car? Or just present.

Soo, change a clutch sensor? Is this all imobilizer stuff?

Sorry I am a lost newbie. Any help appreciated! Thank you so much!!!

Active immobilizer means she will not start, but will turn over fine.

    Thank you. That is huge!
Any ideas how to turn the imobilizer off? It almost seems like its permanently locked up. Ferrari had suggested swapping parent and slave ECU's?

Does the immobilizer "chirp"/beep when fob button pushed? (I assume new batteries in fob). Have you tried putting key in ignition turning on and then pushing fob button, then try to start?

FWIW, I had similar problem with immobilizer; no start, no chirping noise when fob pushed....turned out to be siren fault....with age, internal siren battery leaks and destroys circuit board. IIRC, new siren is ~$350(?). Hope problem is that simple.

Yes, I have also had that problem before - the siren was shorted because of the internal battery and the car would crank but not start. A temporary fix is just to unplug the siren and the fob should still arm/disarm the system (you just won't get any audible chirps).

I just replaced my alarm siren with one of Mark's. Much better deal than OEM. GM part with Ferrari software.

    Solved!!!!

Hello! On the driver side footwell, covering the ECU, is a fusebox. The 30 amp immobilizer fuse was partially cooked. ALWAYS PULL AND INSPECT, NOT JUST CONDUCTIVITY TEST. This passed my voltmeter test.

You all are awesome for your help. Thank you so very much.

Why would the immobilizer fuse be cooked? Sound like there may be a problem "down stream'.

Yes, sirens have been known to blow fuses.

Once that rechargeable battery leaks on the siren circuitry and starts shorting stuff, all bets are off.
