    Hello:

I was wondering what I should expect to pay for a 2003 FERRARI F575 MARANELLO (F1 paddles) with approximately 15K miles. The one I saw was red with black interior and red piping. Would anyone know anything about this car? The vin number is ZFFBV55A930134326 and it has a clean carfax.

Also, if I'm buying it from a reputable dealership (Manhattan Motor Cars), do you think I still need a prepurchase inspection? If so, any recommendations and how much should I expect to pay. I had one done last year on a Porsche for about $300 at Princeton, NJ Porsche dealership on a private-party sale.

The dealership offered me $56K on my 2005 Porsche 911 C2, seal grey/black interior, manual, 20K miles, full warranty and nav. It seems pretty much what the market is offering.

Lastly, what kind of maintenance fees should I expect going forward on the 575 assuming it's in good condition? The 911 was pretty stress-free but then again, it's not a Ferrari.

Thanks in advance for the help and let me know if anyone has a similar model that they would like to sell.

    Ken

575's have been all over the place recently. I've seen them as high as 175 and as low as 125. Has this one had the major service done recently? If so, $135k-$140 would be pretty reasonable considering the mileage. Manhattan Motorcars has a pretty good reputation, so you probably don't need a PPI, especially if they are offering any kind of warranty, but considering you're willing to spend over 100k on a Ferrari, the smart move would be to spend a few hundred on a PPI anyway just for the peace of mind.

Thanks for the response. Can you recommend anyone in the area that performs PPI's? Also, any suggestions how to go about looking for 575's? I've been using cars.com and autotrader.com. Thanks again.

For the PPI try Steve Arena at Arena Motors in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Just over the GWB, not too far from MMC. You'll find him recommended a lot here. 201-288-2003. He services a large number of Fchatters cars. He may be busy, but if he's not he might be willing to do it.

Make sure the 575M you are looking at has the Fiorano Handling Package. If it does not, then it is worth less than one that does.

There is a lot of information on the 575M on F-Chat, but in a nutshell, the 575M was reported to have been a little soft and cushy in terms of handling when it came out -- even inferior to the 550 Maranello. Ferrari purportedly corrected this by offering the Fiorano Handling package.

I second Steve Arena for the PPI and also highly recommend the Fiorano package.

I third the use of Steve Arena, and agree with David about looking for the 575 handling package (makes a huge difference).

I was offered this car before it made to Manhattan Motor cars for $129K. It also will need the major service so you should factor in that into your price. This is a big $$ item. Call FoCNJ and get a quote. They can run it with the vin you have posted below.

Any more questions, please PM me.

All I have to say is that a Maranello in Yellow looks soooooo sexy! That would be the color I would buy one if I had the money...
