Wow that's fantastic. Maserati should buy it and use it for PR.

Beats my 1900 miles per year for the past 9 years.

There is no thing such as a 2003 Maserati Gran Tourismo.
You could start with that fact and then see where you go ...

Haha, yes! That's right. I was thinking he just was trying to express GS but messed it up. Craig’s list doesn't insist posters are grammatically correct....

Perhaps he meant "Gran Torino"? in which case it's not a Maserati.

    No 2003 GS either.
The 4200 series called the Coupe with a 6-speed transmission (as opposed to the Cambiocorsa) a GT. Maybe that's what he's referring to.

If I remember correctly, they called the original coupe's GT's and the spiders, spiders.

    "Cambiocorsa" depended on the gearbox.

The early coupes (4200) were referred to as
Coupe GT or Coupe Cambiocorsa. GT signifying the traditional 6-speed with a pedal, Cambiocorsa the F1 with paddles. Convertible versons were referred to as Spyders.
    I had a 2002 Coupe Cambiocorsa.

They were both considered to be Gran Tourers

Technically... yes. But so few 6 speeds were made I think the common name was just GT for the coupes and spiders for the convertible.

My point is I wouldn't discount this as being true just because of it.

    Someone should call Omar!

I hate to say this but we are talking like computer geeks talk about their hard drives.

It's not important. What's important here is someone should call Omar because if it's true, its an amazing story for all Maserati enthusiasts.

I posted this in another forum/thread, but it seems its relevant to re-post it here:

    Grant Turismo car range:

    Coupe 3200 GT
    Coupe 3200 GTA
    Coupe 3200 GT Assetto Corsa

    Coupe 4200 GT
    Coupe 4200 Cambiocorsa

    Spyder 4200 GT
    Spyder 4200 Cambiocorsa

    GranSport
    GranSport MC Victory

    GranSport Spyder
    GranSport Spyder 90th Anniversary

Note 1: The 3200, 4200 and GranSport are all different cars. The type of the car is either a Coupe or a Spyder, along with some title to denote special edition cars.

Note 2: there are no 3200 Assetto Corsa with an auto gearbox, only manual.

Note 3: "90th anniversary" cars are GS Spyders only, there are no "90th anniversary" Coupes.

Note 4: "MC Victory" cars are only GS Coupe cars, no 4200 or Spyders.

Note 5: there are a lot more special versions, like the "Coupe 4200 GT Vintage package" or the "GranSport Contemporary Classic", but I haven't listed them above.

Note 6: GT = manual, GTA = automatic, Cambiocorsa = F1 paddle gearbox
