I found a private party who is selling a 2004 360 Spider F1 with about 8,000 miles. The seller advised that the clutch life is 65% and that the belts were done when he purchased it 2 years and 8 months ago.

What is the useful life of a clutch (what % is still safe to drive)? Approximate cost of a clutch service? Is 65% a low enough number to use as a negotiating tool?

I called a local dealer near the seller and they advised that the belt needs replacement every 5 years. Is 5 years true or is it 3 years? They quoted $5,500 to do the complete 5 year service including belts, plugs, etc. when it is needed in 2.5 years.

Lastly, the dealer advised that it could do a PPI for $225 and that if a compression test was needed, it would be about 3 additional hours labor.

    Thanks in advance.

The clutch & service interval data are in numerous threads here and probably also in the buying guide above

You would get a PPI done by a dealer who's willing to do it for $225?
