Anyone else seem a little leary of a 2004 575 f-1 at an e-bay "buy it now" for 149K? Anybody know Chicagomotorcars?

What makes you think it is worth more? Is a 575M worth a 550 + a platinum concours winning 328? Not to me. I love the stylish telephone tree...not. Is the left headlight fogged up? Otherwise, it looks like a nice car.

I think $149k for an 04 is a bit low, and that would make me suspicious as well but not running suspicious.

Have a good PPI done, you may get a nice car at a good price.

Given the miles and color I think it is priced right. Sheehan had a 2004 blue and crema 575 at an asking price of $169K. He subsequently dropped it to $159K and it was later on eBay at $150K buy-it-now. I think it has similar miles and all services.

This looks like a motivated seller. Maybe it is a consignment car, you can ask them. If you like the color combo get a good PPI and go for it.

Prices for the 575's are weak right now in various parts of the country for whatever reason. I think that maybe a lot are coming off lease and regardless of wehter or not the owners can get a 599 they may have to move them. In Chicago if this car is not sold this summer it will be hard to move until next spring.

    Good Comments.

I just picked up an 03 Manual that the owner was selling as his 599 was incoming.

Strange....the plot thickins......both the Chicago dealers refuse to do PPIs. I get the feeling there are bad vibes between the privateers and dealers in Chicago, and not just this particular independent seller. Anybody in Chicagoland know of a good private shop that can do a great PPI on a 575? PM if need be. thanks

One of the service managers, after a 30 minute chat, just basically said he does not have time to inspect and sell other people's cars. I mean come on, I was going to pay him to inspect it. I even offered the dealer the work if it needed anything after I bought it. Seller responded that the dealers are angry because he undercuts dealers prices. Dealer says that there are too many people trying to sell Ferraris...and so on, and so on........Sounds like a bunch of kids throwing toys in a sandbox.

Seems that they know most buyers will want a PPI done and without it, probably will pass on the car. So, by refusing to do a PPI on a car from an indi-dealer, that dealer has a LOT tougher time moving the car.

    "Stay out of our sandbox"!

    Edit: The plot indeed thinkens! Continental has a 05 GTC 575 @ $219, a 03 575 @ $169 and a 01 550 @ $129... LFSC doesn't have any competing cars, but maybe they just don't want to! ;)

My thoughts exactly. Continetal has the similar car almost 50k more. So back to my question, any independents known around Chicago for PPI?

Some (most?) Ferrari dealers will not do PPI's anymore due to liability concerns. I am buying a car in Texas and Ferrari of Houston will not do a PPI either.

    Logic sounds solid.

BTW, the local Ferrari of Seattle Dealership is backed up with scheduled work over 5 weeks out, yet was able to squeeze a recent PPI in for an out of town customer buying from an Independent Seller.
Perhaps Chicago is a little less flexible or Ferrari of Seattle just tries to accomodate all clients.
