  1. A dealer here in Motowerks Of Barrrington is trying to sell my a 2004 E60
BMW 525i with 680 miles on it. Its jet black with tan leather premium package and cold weather package. It drives and runs nice. The dealer is extremly eager to sell it to me, There asking price is $42,500 the sticker was $49,500 im not sure if this is a good deal.

    What do you think. ?

Dealer seems as if they found a buyer and wants to sell quick getting 6-8 calls a day from them. Just wondering if its worth going back and trying to cut a deal. ?

I don't get it. He really wants to sell it to you at a big discount but he is getting 6-8 calls a day for them???

    Does not compute.

I hear they are having hard time moving the new 5. You can deal IMHO.

  3. I was just asking if thats a good deal.. A big discount. ? Im not sure if its that big of a discount. ? He is calling me 6 times a day like he is desperate.

I made a mistake the sticker was $45,800

OK, YOU're getting 6 calls a day from them.

You're in the drivers seat here. He needs to sell, you don't need to buy.

How long are you keeping the car? if it is less than five years, DON'T DO IT.

Assuming you could get a new 2005 at MSRP (if not better), the 2004 will be worth significantly less than the $3000 delta in price the moment you drive it off the lot.

In two or three years, no one will car that you didn't buy the 2004 until Feb 2005 -- they'll just care that it is a year older than the 2005 model that could have been purchased months earlier than your 2004, and yours will be worth $5k less than the 2005.

And even then you are driving a Chris Bungle masterpiece.

  8. Ended up getting a better deal, 2005 525i all options available, less than 500 miles. Going to get 545i type wheels or M5 type wheels (when available) to get the more aggressive look. Deal was $40,900. Transaction took less then 25 minutes at dealer signed papers got keys walked out to garage drove away, Props to Barrington Motorwerks.

Impressions so far: good interior build quality and looks (except wheels). Engine isn’t very powerful from start but when moving 40-45mph and you gun it will rev up and you can definitely feel it move. Overall it looks great and for the price it could not be beat. A new 530i with sports package was 54k. Didn’t think the price difference was work different wheels and .5L more displacement.
