2004 Canadian GP Official Ferrari List/Chat/Mid Atl Ferrari Gang Events!!

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, but here’s the rundown of Official Ferrari List/Chat/Mid-Atl Ferrari Gang Summer of Thunder Social Events for the 2004 Canadian GP weekend.

First, some general trip facts, myths and preconceptions:

1) Many of us will be staying at the Hotel du Fort (www.hoteldufort.com 800-565-6333) on Rue du Fort and St. Catherine.

2) Most of us will be sitting in section 31 (www.grandprix.ca) whilst at the track…if you would like to stay in touch, tune your FRS radio to channel 3-8, or 3-6 as an alternative.

3) We’re all leaving Baltimore (Hunt Valley Mall) at 0700 on Thursday, June 10, 2004. If you’re interested in joining us, please be in the Walmart Parking lot off of Shawan Road East (Exit 20) from I-83 North of the Baltimore beltway. We’ll them embark through central PA to I-81 and on to Canada. So far in the caravan:

’86 TR, ’85 Countach QV, ’92 348TS, ’99 360, ’85 308QV, ’84 308QV, ’80 308GTSi, etc…

4) A few of us are completely infatuated with Lynda Carter (circa 1978) and ’79 Trans-Ams. J

We’ll arrive in Montreal sometime around 5pm that evening in time for a Peel Street Ferrari Festival. The streets will be closed and alive with Ferrari enthusiasts and scantily clad French eye candy.

THURSDAY-JUNE 10-Happy Hour/Dinner reservations are at L’Actual Restaurant for 7:30pm (1930):

This is a Belgian restaurant (waffles for dinner?) that was recommended by Eddy at Hotel du Fort. Afterwards…we can partake in the tremendous variety of nightlife that Montreal has to offer.

FRIDAY-JUNE 11- Dinner is at 7pm at Forquette Forchette at Lake Chambly, on the water.

We’ll need to leave Hotel du Fort by 6:15pm (1815) to ensure that we have enough time to get across the Pont Champlain bridge to the restaurant.

We’ve got an outdoor table for 20 where we’ll sample all of Unibroue’s microbrews!! As long as Red Head Shawn doesn’t make a comeback visit, we should be able to make it through dinner without being cut off by the bartender this year. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

SATURDAY-JUNE 12- Karting at Kart-O-Mania 6:15pm (1815). Thomas and Nadia are hosting us again this year with 60 mins of karting consisting of a warmup/qualifying and a 35 min race.

SUNDAY-JUNE 13- Dinner at 7pm (1900) at Jardin Nelson (Vieux Port). This is an excellent outdoor restaurant with a live band in the old Port section of the city. It’s a short cab ride away from downtown…let’s pray the weather holds up.

We’re planning to head home Monday morning. Depending on when we depart, I’ll plan a nice route through the VT mountains a la BigHead Dennis!

So, what should we be prepared for while we’re in Montreal??? Large bar tabs?? Formula One extravagance? Gerhard Berger-esque excess?
