2004 Challenge Stradale Question "Slow down"

Hi guys,
I have 2004 Stradale with 5500km. Drove it about 15km and parked it. 3 hours later I start it and notice flashing light indicating excessive heat in catalytic convertor (or at least that is what the owner's manual says). Limped home at 50km and nearly home the "SLOW DOWN" light comes on- I never got close to normal operating temp and plenty of oil pressure. ECU started to cut power just before I got home.

Any ideas other than it needs to be towed and inspected?

PS I wish this were an Aprils Fool but that is in 30 min. (I am in Geneva, Switz.)
