I've very curious where the car will sell at and this ad is very captivating to follow! This is one of my favorite cars of all time, I just wish they were back to 2014 prices so I could actually afford one myself. Good luck to the seller!
It's frustrating to conclude I have to sell her. Having said that, a friend just emailed and suggested that eventually the price I am selling might justify just putting her into long term storage! Still, at the moment there is a great deal there for someone who wants a Stradale with all the bells and whistles.
Thanks Raj. The price drops are having an effect....as there is increasing interest. The new owner is out there....! Will miss her though... :-(
Hey Andrew - Put her up in storage. Up in Maryland that is! I will be happy to only drive her two miles a week as you suggest - OK, maybe not. But I promise to enjoy her for you and take great care of her. Curtis GLWS!
204k is still too high for me. I would love to own it. When you are really ready to sell it, post the out of the door price.
Decided to pursue a new but time limited opportunity here in Hong Kong (hint: it floats, and yes, I've heard all the jokes . CS now priced to sell. $199900. This is the best priced Rosso Scuderia CS in the country (any lower have accident or fire damage).
Thanks everyone for the interest over the past few weeks. I am removing the listing at the end of the week, as I am placing the car on consignment with a local dealer. The best price is 'now' if anyone has genuine interest.
Will this car be at Ferrari of New England?? In the Boston area and would love to go check it out. Drew
Yes i feel your disapointment too. Basically everything the OP planned to do in his first mail, he excecuted totally different later. What a bummer.
That is correct Steven because in my opinion this was a horrible way to market and sell a car. Think of this: The way this "reverse auction" was setup the owner turned his car into a depreciating asset every week that it stayed on the market. He even stated, "The price is firm each week so please no haggling" So this car started at $219K. If I wanted to buy this car for $200K, I would have to wait 19 weeks to do so!!!???. A friend once taught me that when you want to do a deal, time is not your friend. What about ROI(Return on Investment)?? If you have $200K in your pocket today, you have capital to leverage to get a return back on your money rather than holding this car and watching it depreciate every week. Plus, you have the carrying costs of Insurance, Maintenance and Storage. There is a reason that people don't sell their cars using "Reverse Auctions". The reasonse above are just a few.
Well, it would be a boring world if we all did things the same way. It may have been a 'horrible' way to sell the car, but then again, someone could have purchased it during the past few weeks. I too concluded that monitoring it week after week, a $1000 at a time, for 'up to a year' would have proven to be a bit tedious. Still, the final price offered will prove to have been a great purchase if someone had pulled the trigger. I can only conclude that the market has cooled considerably, or that selling outside of a recognised dealer is much more difficult than expected for high end cars. Thanks for all that expressed an interest. I'll post a final sale notice when that takes place. Cheers to all.
Well, much to my amazement, it looks like the car is sold (caveat: subject to deposit being received!) Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest.
