I'm having problems getting into 2nd gear until the car is fully warm. I expected that such a modern car wouldn't have these sort of problems (just like the Ferrari 2nd gear syndrome!).

Is this usual, or have I got problems?

I've noticed a small leak on my garage which I've tracked down to gearbox oil? Could the two be related?

    Thanks,

    Mark

my old '04 manual had similar problems getting into 2nd until after warmup. not sure if they have resolved this for later models as my '06 is an egear.

No, this is serious. I need to understand what sort of problem, if any, that I have before I send the car back to the dealer.

I dont know if they are related, but my 348 would not go into second until the car was warm. And I was told by many people not to use second if the car was cold. There was nothing wrong the transmission, it was just something that was common with the model.

My 04 6 spd had similar problems going into 2nd when it was cold. The shop at the dealer was able to adjust something and I haven't had any problems with it since.

I would recommend taking it to your local dealer to have them check it out.

Those 2nd gears are tricky. I put synthetic gear oil in my 328 and it now shifts much smoother and 2nd works sooner after a cold start, but still needs to warm up a bit.

Don't know if synthetic gear oil would help on a Lambo, but I'll bet it would.

My car did that. I put redline gear oil in and had the shifter cable adjusted and it is much better

Now that's a problem an '04 car shouldn't have. Factory deliver them with Agip but your local dealer might have replace it with other brands of same specs? We use Shell here in Asia.

Some guys swear by it with Redline on the 348s but my 348 & TR were alright even when cold.

Does it go away after a mild warm-up period?

I'm feeling this as well, anyone have a permanent fix for it? Any "Lambo-oil-guru" here maybe?

    Thanks!

It get's much better when it's warm. No grinding or crunching, but I wouldn't say it's perfect. Surely the E-Gear cars can't suffer this?

I really wouldn't have expected this from a car from the 'Audi' brotherhood.
