I wish you good luck with the sale- these are GORGEOUS cars. I wish I was looking for one of them right now.
I am not sure where this # came from.....but I will let it be known that I have turned down serious cash offers of $185K USD for my car as well as exotic car trades + cash ( including Ferraris) I would sell the 2005 575M F1 Argento/Nero for $115K USD
HAHAHAHAAAH $137 - That number is laughable for your TDF Gated 575. That Unicorn easily fetches 599 money; maybe even early GTO money~!!! One would argue the most beautiful colors on a vehicle which is the last of which exemplifying soulful nostalgia of the front engine 12 cylinders. Truly and end of an era..
While I unfortunately don't find the time to keep as current on this board as much as I did in the past, it's still great fun to see some lively knowledgeable debate and interesting perspectives on really unusual cars, or cars with unusual combinations and condition. And being what my research leads me to believe is one of 4 cars produced in this particular combination (TdF/Cuoio with blue stitching, 6-speed, HGTC, carbon brakes, etc.), it certainly fits that description. As Erik alluded to, this past summer it won the Judges Choice Award at our local FCA chapter car show, of which I was one of the Judges. This award is given to the car that the panel of judges simply would most like to hop in and take home for no other reason than pure desirability. Dom's car winning this particular award is one thing (and the decision was instant and unanimous among us), but to give you an idea of the sheer spectacularity of this car in terms of its unique colour, spec and condition, it beat the following (among other) competition: an absolutely immaculate Classiched F50, a gorgeous euro-spec F40, a flawless 599GTO with less than 1,000kms on it, an immaculate collector-quality 246 Dino, a 458 Speciale delivered less than a week before the show with over $150k in options, a stunning black/tan 512BB with less than 19,000 original kms on it, a low-mile 430 Scud with every conceivable option and carbon-fiber everything, a low-mile 550 Barchetta, and about 40 others. Good luck with the sale Dom. This is truly an aficionado's Ferrari that has to be seen in the TdF over Cuoio flesh to be understood. It'll be fun to see what sort of dough his thing crosses an auction block for in the future. Best, Neil
I am aware of what you speak of - did not know it was him.. An auction would be devastating. I was under the impression he was going to keep it and sell the other. I guess the best response at $137 would be - 'that's a great down payment'
Neil, and Don Domenico, this doesn't surprise me one tiny bit. My 575M F1 is the twin to Dom's car, TdF blu/cuoio, except it's F1 transaxle rather than 6-speed manual, FHP rather than HGTC package and dark steering wheel and dash leather. Five years ago when I had decided to buy a 575 I was searching for a six-speed manual. Found an excellent manual car in grigio titanio/nero but shortly after located a flawless TdF blu/cuoio F1 car in Virginia that I couldn't pass as it seemed to my eye a shockingly beautiful color combination and the best for the car. Of course that's a matter of taste and no one disagreeing can be wrong. Thought this group might be interested in the TdF blu Zagato 575GTZ. Below is a photo of the car, one of six of this model built by Zagato, entered in the 2011 Fall Ferrari Festival at the Saratoga Automobile Museum. TdF blu body with a light cream top and cuoio interior. My 575M was exhibited beside it to demonstrate its contrast with the factory machine; see the left front corner of my 575 at the edge of the photo. Second photo is Andrea Zagato signing his book for me, the dude in the Akubra. Till now I had never noticed that Andrea is signing with an Omas Galileo roller ball pen. I love the rare style of the Zagato car; I prefer the classic and timeless beauty of the standard Maranello. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is a lovely car the 575M is so gorgeous the TDF color the interior and the gated 3 pedal, what a car I wish I'd seen I earlier. Just out of curiousity what did It go for? I didn't read all of this thread just the first and last page, seemed like there was some drama and whatnot I hope OP was happy with the outcome of his sale.
Thank you for your kind compliments. The answer to your question is that it sold for more than $185K. I am happy that the car will be with an excellent custodian.
aw, nuts, Don Domenico! I was so-o hoping the argento car would go first! damn! n'importe! good on you for the sale!
