A self introduction. I have benefitted from this Ferrari Chat community and look to contribute in future. I am a new owner of a 2005 612 in Blu Mirabeau / beige with F1 transmission. One previous owner with 6400 km on the clock.

    - Tipo F133 V12 is a piece of art
    - Interior luxury and seat position comfort is first class
    - Exterior lines and body is elegant with understated presence
    - Performance is breathtaking on demand and surprisingly overdelivers
    - Sound quality from start up makes me pause every time; deep rumble at low revs and hyper-smooth pitch bordering on insanity at high revs
    - 4 seats needed at times
    - Overall, a unique package that provides a bit of everything

It is my first Ferrari and I love it.

If you can keep maintenance costs under control and live in a non-urban environment, the 612 is a fantastic car. In an urban environment it is a tad unwieldy if used as a semi-daily driver or more frequent.

Cheers my friend. I also purchased my first Ferrari, also a 612 in June. It's exactly what you wanted - powerful, classy and functional. Now go get some mi/km on it! :)

I have owned a 360 Modena. I am considering a 2005 612 Scaglietti. Any cautions or red flags I should get prepared for?
    Thank you!

The timing belts have to be replaced every 5 years, but that's just regular maintenance. The fuel pump caps can crack and have to be replaced, not a terrible expense. Treat the window and side mirror switches gently and you are good to go!

I bought my '06 612 in December 2017 and have had only minor issues. I've had two engine control system failure warnings. The first one required a new gas cap. The second was the above mentioned cracked fuel pump line. Both minimal expenses. Other than that it is such a great car to drive. Put it in Sport mode and it flies! Its very understated as well and a great family car.

I bought this car for all the same reasons you mentioned and had only minor issues in 2 years (bad earth battery linkage, servo hose leak - previous owner did the pumps). My only advice: swap the wheels for 19" ones - it balances the car visually much better (see other threads just on this subject).

I had a 360 before and since a year a 612. Buy the best one you can find within your budget and enjoy it!

Image Unavailable, Please Login For some reason the 612 seems to attract more attention at Ferrari meets than other production cars.
I had never seen one but bought mine on sight even though I was looking for a 599.
It is a big car the gets smaller the harder you push it.

That's why we got ours. Had a 355 and 328 but needed more seats. We call her the "200 MPH Family Car"
