Hello Guys, Just purchased this 2005 430 with new clutch (6% use) hard to say but by the pictures would you know if the Pump - accumulator are 2005 or potentally newer pieces ? I am considering an F1 pump upgrade to be safe, but after 14k miles the previous owners seemed to have no issues. might have been already replaced ? (seems like image insertion is broken in the forum...) https://ibb.co/8Kv9W2V https://ibb.co/Nyztz2Z -https://ibb.co/8Kv9W2V
If the pump is cutting in and out and you are getting the correct pressures then leave well alone. Flash on here can give you a series of tests to see how good the system is. A new pump relay is a good cheap item to fit as these can give problems. Look for heat marks on the connections, care in removing as can be very tight or stuck
Looks like you have the original 360 and (early) F430 pump, like this: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/car-diagrams/ferrari/v6-v8/430-group/f430-spider/power-unit-and-tank/213264-electric-pump-f1.html I also had that, but I upgraded to the new pump , like this: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/248083-f1-hydraulic-pump.html Accumulator is the same, you could just change it for piece of mind, regardless of what you know or not... they are cheap enough and easy to change: https://www.sequparts.com/product/accumulator-ferrari-f1/ I swapped my pump, accumulator, F1 pump relay (behind the driver's seat)... just because I could and wanted reliability
The other thing to do is the 2 big relays in the trunk which drive the cooling fans.. They are 50Amp beasts which were corroded by now on mine. New ones are a must there. I also have a 2005 F1 F430, by the way. I have done many things to my car to bring it what it is today, ping me directly if you want ... @flash32 here is the expert on F1 and most things Ferrari ... He might chime in now too.
