The rear wing looks bad, but overall the car is not bad. I wonder how much slower the cars are going to be this year with the new aero packages. I heard something like 2 sec slower. Vic
I think the car looks pretty good. Will be interesting to see how well it goes though. That front wing is an interesting solution to "interpreting the regs." I agree these huge rear-wing endplates (due to regs) look bad, but can't do anything about them...
Good looking car. and those endplates look exaggerated! oh-well ,it will be interesting. as a side note, last year while at indy F1 weekend, fri night me and a friend went downtown to eat, walked in the restaurant and there is Takuma Sato sitting with his girlfriend. We were seated right behind him, then I look to my right at the next table is Jenson Button with some of the BAR crew members. Nobody seemed to know who they were except for me and my friend . I just sort of acknowledged JB and we left it at that. of course we had our Ferrari shirts on. lol . They seemed to appreciate the discretion. they seembed to be very authentic. anyway it was fun to be with these international superstars. Only in America could they get away with this. And I hope they do well this season.
So now that BAR cannot run three cars during practise sessions, I wonder how good they really are. I think last season was the closest BAR will ever get to winning a World Championship.
I liked it when they had Lucky Strike on one side & 555 on the other - confused the c**p out of some people, but I thought it was very innovative.
I'm sleepy and about to hit the sack, so I won't go looking for the rule, but isn't there a regulation against having that extra "wing" at the top of the intake tower? Or am I imagining things? :/
The Airbox is left as a sort of "free design area" for the designers/aeridynamicysts. They can basically do what they want around there as within regs (size of airbox inet, engine cover dimensions, etc.).
Interesting that in the top picture of Sato the BAR has the non-tabacco livery. They need to ditch the bar code though.
