Congrats! I figured the two 6 speed F430 sales each surpassing 300K all in last week In Monterey would have to help sell this one! Hope the new owner enjoys it
Three pedal car. Coupe. I am not a flipper, just a collector who holds onto his car for a long time. I enjoy the mechanical nature of manual shifting. I see many gorgeous F1 360/430 cars very reasonably priced in light of how much car you get for the money but i have my heart set on a gated car. I will wait this wave out, as it will burst soon.....I hope.....Thanks. ARA
I think this is the new normal, friend. Remember when the market busted in, was it 87 or 88? Been a minute. Collector cars went *nuts* as did art, fine jewelry, etc, as people looked for places to park weatlth. Prices never did float back to where they were. I recall a check for $12,500 written for a very solid red/black driver quality 67 Corvette convertible, small block 4 speed, in 85 or so. They broke $25K in the late 80s and never looked back. I quote that story because the vintage Corvettte market is one I know *far* better than Ferraris, though thay are somewhat analogous. I also remember $20K 70's 308s back in the early/mid 80s too.
I hear ya...and hope you're wrong....that may put my owning a stick 360 out of reach for me. I am a National level NCRS (National Corvette Restorer's Society) judge and know vettes well. I own 4, including 3 1967 Vettes. I cringe when i look back at what some stick 360 coupes went for a year or so ago....Frown....ARA
New normal but thIs one is a unicorn. Not my taste but ….. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I hope I'm wrong too, but only after I talk myself into selling my 348 Spider. Then prices are welcome to collapse!
I am Jack's total lack of surprise. Nobody is buying these cars to collect or drive at these inflated values, really. They're all investors or quick-flip artists.
It is now listed for sale by Carriage house motorcars Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Dealers like these have ruined the market for enthusiasts like me. I hope the market collapses and they get burnt.
One can never time the markets. The smartest people in the world have super computers, direct fiber optic pipes a block away from the trading floors, insiders mining data, and a host of other tools and methods unavailable to the common person: yet, at the end of the day these people often lose...but the winnings average out to what the common man can get. You go in when you can. Be smart , Don't look back.
I didn’t own my first exotic till about three years ago, and it wasn’t even planned. Moreover, I added my second exotic, a 360, just over a year ago. So I only just recently started looking to upgrade to a 430, but speculators have ruined my chances, for now.
Speculations actually arent your issue., its other buyers causing the increase. The prices being achieved today are on the back of ridiculous volumes. There is simply more demand than supply. Good cars are sold before they even get listed.
https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/ferrari/430/2514319.html It had a listed price of 225K last week, now it says "inquire".....hmmm....Must have sold for less than 250 if new dealer had it listed last week for 225K.....
That would certainly explain why the price isn't listed now. Thanks for the input. I am in West Palm and in the market.
