That’s a pretty harsh assessment. I actually think they are a bargain. Not much comes to mind that offers the same manual, screaming v8, exciting exotic experience for less money. Much more rational than 1-2 million for an unopened nintendo game
I will take a $100,000 08 Gallardo with a 6 speed and a v10 over a $ 225,000 F430 with a 6 speed any day, I do like the F430, but the manual s are way way overpriced .I am now in a position to start my search. The Lambo blows the 430 away in looks, if your going to waste 225 k on a 430, why not buy a 488, the looks alone will make up for the paddles. The 488 (F8 as well ) is the best looking Ferrari since the 355 / Testa / 3x8s / F40 - 50 / BBi and the list goes on . The best feature on a 430 are the seats and the interior as a whole , otherwise , they are a small measurable increase in design from the ugly as all hell, 360 . Dropping an extra 100k plus on a manual 430 is just insane in my estimation, I I will take my Gallardo and smile all the way home knowing my interior isnt going to come unglued this century, Audi will not put up with the type of crap Ferrari puts out , when it comes to build quality. Ferrari would go out of business if all of their new cars were built as good as a 328 , its that simple. Now with all of this hybrid garbage, God only knows the problems that are lurking under the lid. Thank you
I know I’ll be the first to say “looks are subjective” but to say the 360 is ugly as hell! Well, let’s just say you’re in a very small minority here.
have you ever driven a gallardo? it drives like an LR4. looks are subjective but the 360 is a timeless design aging like fine wine. the gallardo is old dull.
This is your opinion and you know what they say about opinions right? They’re like a holes ! Everyone has one! I personally think Lambos are overpriced Audi’s To each their own. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
There shop is full of great stuff. Books on the cars. I think engineering drawings. I mean everything. I've been there a bunch. When I was doing British sports cars I went like once a month. They weren't the cheapest but they were always the most helpful and making sure you got the cork gasket vs whatever other crap existed etc... They had all the GOODS.
I would take them all. Drive a different one each day. Lambo, Audi R8/10, Ferrari, Aston, McLaren. The Ford vs Chevy passions are a bit much. I had an F430 with an F1, awesome car. ...the 6-speed will pay for itself in reliability/ repairs over any F1. I believe it's worth the delta. The hassles with the F1 are not entirely the money, but the hassles, time, inconvenience, of dealing with dodgy transmission designs. To me, that's definitely worth the premium
ive driven gallardos back to back with 430 in past and really no contest. the 430 drives like a modern sports car while gallardo is, to be polite, not. the 488 is v nice but now closer to 300k than 200k. 458 is my fav and can be had 225s now. current pricing means value has to be taken out of equation and just get what you like best price be damned.
Well you said "where else can you get 500hp in stick without a ton of electronics" so viper came to mind first haha. Gen 3 and 4 vipers aren't bad actually! If you haven't driven one id recommend it.
Thanks for the extended opinion piece. Glad you got all that justified and settled. We can all move on now. Peace... For real.
