Hi guys, I need some help , I'm thinking of buying a 2005 F430, F1 option, gray/red..Any problems with this year F430? I understand this is the first year of production.Currently, I own a 1985 308 QV, and 've had NO problems at all. Any advice or warning on the subject? Thanks guys, Ted.

Just have a dealer run the VIN and make sure all the updates have been done.

I have an 05 F430 F1, 13k miles, no headaches whatsoever. make sure it has been serviced and updated regularly. Have the dealer pull the service history and they will let you know if it needs anything. Good Luck!

F430 like all models have campains or factory upgrages. One of which is the exhaust brackets that hold the exhaust in place. They kept breaking. Most a small, like said prior just give the vin# to the local dealer and have them check to see if all updates have been performed.

I too would get a full PPI on the car and paint meter run to see if any accident, paint work etc. As always make sure you ghet all books, tools, covers, window sticker etc if possible.

I would buy an extended warranty as well for piece of mind.

Good luck they are great cars

Just do a PPI and make sure all campaigns have been done on the car. If all checks out well rejoice that you no longer have timing belts!

There are a bunch of them for '05's. They differ from recalls in that dealers are informed to do them on cars as they come in for regular service. Most are very minor. If the car was dealer serviced, they should all be done.

One thing I would add is to find out if the exhaust manifolds have been replaced. It now appears all the originals will fail. I've heard conflicting reports on the cost of having them done out of warranty. Ask a dealer to get a real price. Mine were done just before the warranty expired. Some states may have a longer warranty on these than three years. Again ask your local dealer.

How is your 308 ? I am looking to add a 308 or 328 into my stable. I just purchased a 2005 F430-Spider (F1) - very low mileage (3600 KM) , has no issue at all; I think as long as the car is clean with no accident .. should buy with confidence. Good luck in your purchase.
