Because the 360 was being phased out for the 430.

Amazing that that damage totalled the car. I'm not a buyer, but curious what year that hit was?

That's the only reason that I bought the car, due to the low damage it had. The car was damaged about 3 months ago and auctioned off about 2 months ago.

Light hit?? My family owned a body shop for 30 years... THAT is not a "light" hit

Either way, Best of luck with your sale.

Just out of curiosity what would hit a car in that location, a truck? It looks like the point of impact is high on the fender, close to the gas cap?

Or was it spun and slid underneath something?

compared to the rest of the salvage ferraris out there, it's a light hit. There was no inner structure damage, frame, or suspension. I have tons of pics of the car with the quarter panel and bumper off. Thanks for the interest

I trully don't know what hit it, we don't get any info like that from the auction, but if I had to guess, the car was probably at a stop light and someone did not brake at time and where able to steer to the left but not enough to avoid the car.

Whether the hit was "light" is subjective, but I certainly like the transparency and a potential buyer can judge by him/herself.

Thank you all for your great comments, I truly did put a lot of time, effort, dedication and passion into fixing it. I hope it finds a grateful owner. It was always one of my dreams to work, own, drive a 360 spider, and in the process I have learned tons of Ferrari engineering, concepts and heritage.

The impact is clearly driver rear end. Everything seem to point that direction. Maybe it was parked and it was hit and run.

What parts did you replace? Factory new or used parts? Who did the paint work and how much of the car was painted? Did you take this before you started the work to Ferrari dealership and they told no frame and sucture damage? After you repaired it did you have the work checked at Ferrari to make your it was done right? Frank

    Hi dabank
We replaced the left side quarter panel with a new one that I found on this site, I could probably still find the link to it, the rear bumper, and the left outer tail light. Like i stated before the work was done by myself. The damage that the car had was quarter panel damage, it was about 1 foot away from the frame, frame was untouched. If you are interested in the vehicle i'd be more than willing to go with you to Ferrari of San Diego so they can give you an inspection on it.

    Thanks for your interested

I was just curious why there were only 28 made because I purchased a '05 Spider last year.

Do you have the service history on this car? Besides the paint and bodywork what have you done to this car service wise? Is this car a private sale or are you a dealer? Frank

I did not get any service history form the auction, only history I have on the car is the car fax, will be trying to get some service history from Ferrari of San Diego this week.

They introduced the 430 and 430 spider in 2005. There were obviously a few left over orders for 360s that were manufactured in 2005 although the models run (the 360) technically ended in 2004.

My car is a late build Nov 07 model so still a 2007 not 2008. If a car is built on Dec 31 it is that years model not the next year.

Generally (= not Ferrari), in the US I thought that the build date did not dictate the MY, but rather the federal certification/approval it was brought in on, or the specification it was manufacturered to, e.g. you often see a MY of a model being available before Jan 1 of that year (which wouldn't be possible if the build date determined the MY)... Not sure...
