Very nice. All Superamericas had the 19" modulars and HGTC included much more than just the wheels, including CCM brakes, stiffer springs and rear anti-roll bar, rear exhaust, and a special front underbody and upper A arms with brake cooling ducts. All Superamericas already included the ECUs and TCU mentioned in the 575M brochure below.

Based on current facts and figures there should be only two 575SA in Rosso Barchetta...the other one is a US delivery as well.

Is there some kind of database for the 575 SuperAmerica’s?

Absolutely! When I decided to come back to the Ferrari world some 10 or 15 years ago, I really wanted a 575 superamerica.

I joined Fchat and started to do my homework and tried to know as much as I could about that car. Tazandjan was already the number one in the 550/575 section providing a fantastic amount of information.

Many thanks for spending so much time and energy sharing your knowledge with us.

And I still own the 575SA I purchased then!

Does the 575SA have any transmission upgrades, software or otherwise, over the base 575?

MY understanding from reading the technical forums is that the transmission difference is only on the cars with the HGTC package, which is not all Superamericas, but which includes this one we have for sale. Here is a quote on the transmission and one on the engine (copied from the forums).

The HGTC F1 shifter ECU was unique, as far as I know. It only speeded up shifting, no other features. FHP never included any shock absorber related or F1 shifter related components, as far as I know. F&R springs, R anti-roll bar, steering ECU, and calipers with Pagid 4-4 Orange pads. The 19" wheels were a separate option and available on any 575M, but standard on HGTC 575Ms (18" wheels do not clear the CCM brakes) and on all 575 SAs.

We have all speculated on the differences between the Superamerica's Type F 133G and the 575M's Type F 133E engines, and now we know.

    The major changes were:

Heads were shaved 0.15 mm to increase compression ratio to 11.2:1 from 11.0:1.

Angle of the exhaust valve seats, possibly intake valve seats, too, was increased to 130 degs from 90 degs, sinking the valves 0.2 mm further into the head to make up for the head shave and to increase flow.

The same camshafts were used, but timing was altered to -1 deg BTDC/50 deg ABDC (SA) vs -7 deg BTDC/56 deg ABDC (M) for the intake cams and 42 deg BBDC/7 deg BTDC (SA) vs 36 deg BBDC/13 deg BTDC (M) for the exhaust cams.

Intake line diameter increased by 1 mm.

Red paint on the intake manifold covers and cover ribs were changed.

    612 Scalietti-style gray valve covers.

The 575SA also has more HP. 575M, 515 hp, 575 SA, 540 hp, both at 7250 rpm. Torque unchanged at 434 ft lbs.

This is amazingly sexy. GLWTS wow.

p.s. is there an easy-ish way to pull a window sticker like the one shown (so I can do it for my 550) or maybe that is actually a scan of the original (just looks perfect). Thanks

All Superamericas are fitted with the 612's F1A system with a min shift time of 180 ms. No changes were made for HGTC Superamericas. Here is a photo of the Superamerica F1A shift panel that is identical to the 612's with the lever selecting both reverse and 1st gear.

Here is a factory document on the engine changes for the Superamerica. Note also that the HGTC exhaust on the Superamerica was different from the 575M HGTC exhaust. My 575M is fitted with a Superamerica HGTC rear exhaust.

Any Ferrari dealer can pull a window sticker facsimile, like the one in the photo.

I tried to do that with what I understood to be the originating dealer (based on the books/manuals) but they said they couldn't (didn't have it in their system any longer). I'll have to try a local San Francisco Bay area dealer. Thanks so much -- Eric
