I'm considering the purchase of a new or used 2005 Gallardo -- preferably orange, transparent bonnet, six-speed manual. What's realistic right now in terms of pricing? Are new Gallardos selling for under MSRP and, if so, how much? What's a '05 Gallardo with reasonable miles going for? I'm looking for realistic numbers for California, not speculation. Anybody have some recent experience and can provide some input? Thanks for your help!

A friend of mine just bought an '05 Gallardo brand new from a our local Lamborghini dealer here in Central Florida. It was a 6 speed manual, pearl orange, coming home function, electric seats, but no transparent engine bonnet, he bought the car for $28,000 under MSRP. This is a real number and not speculation. I wouldn't buy a used '05, with the good deals that anyone can get on brand new '05, its a no brainer.

only about 15 brand new cars left in the U.S. You might want to take the deal you can get. There is only one new 6 speed left in orange in the country and it has about 15k worth of extra added stuff on it. I know, I tried to buy it.

Just get an '06 car in a few weeks, price now is $15k off msrp unless you get a salesman that thinks they can close you.....$15k off is a real number that a few dealers have quoted me on cars that will be here within 3 weeks.

What would a discount be for like a '06 if you were to spec the car out yourself? I was told only $10,000 off the final price. Do you think any dealer can do better than that?

I very, very highly doubt the 15k discount on a car that is coming in. Matter of fact, the only way I would is if I saw the buyers order showing it after you purchased. Sorry to be negative, but that puts about zero return on investment, makes zero sense.
As for discounting the spyder, never happen. I have a funny feeling that car will go the way of the 430 spyder, which ironically enough has dropped dramatically over the past couple of months and I have heard several stories of people being able to purchase them for sticker. There is a new kid in town, and he is faster, more sure footed, and better looking so watch out

Ha Ha. Funniest thing I've heard all year. If you can find me a 430 Spider at sticker I will buy every one you find and give you a $5k finders fee per car. Hoping to hear from you.

I'll tell ya what, I will ask the clients that have them on the hook if I can give you their names so that you can discuss it. I have seen them on my wholesale listing service drop from 80-100k over sticker to less than 60 in 30 days. It will stay up for a while, but I would not be betting on it too much when there is another competitor on the ground. Remember, Ferrari has NEVER had a worthwhile challenger in this market for over 6 years and now they do.

Hey Gary, I have one that is funnier; how much did you pay for your coupe? I find a really funny thing to be this, that car was doing 60k over sticker wholesale 4 months ago and can now be had by anybody at 30k over sticker and by a lot of people at sticker. That is pretty funny to me as the guys that stepped into that car has virtually lost 40-60k as they most likely paid in excess of 60-80 over to get the car 4 months ago. I know for a fact that Motorcars international was selling them for 75k over sticker 4 months ago and I was offered a brand new in the wrapper red/tan coupe with delivery miles for 30k over. Who is the joke on now? Enjoy your car Gary, whatever you paid for it and when I am looking for a cynical comment I will PM you.

    $177k.

And I'm not being cynical in the least...you find the car, I pay the money.

Gary, you know as well as I that I personally have no pull with a F-car dealer. As a customer that buys exotics relatively frequently, some of my clients have gone into Ferrari dealers and after some working, been offered cars at sticker. That is the point that I was making, you know that, but you attempted to challenge what I was saying. I will say this though, if I can have access to your checkbook I would not mind it though :)

BOYS BOYS..come on now...cant we all just get a long?

I do not know about the spyder much, I do KNOW this I can buy a RED/TAN and a BLACK/BLACK F-430 SPyder TODAY for 10K over stiker.offered to me today!!!!!! I do not do F cars and I think they WILL not be as HARD to get when the L SPyder hits........THEY are still great cars...but I think they are still a re-worked 360, just IMO........PLEASE do not bash me.

I ALSO KNOW for a fact I can get a PLAIN JANE 430 coupe for STICKER......PERIOD overnight, maybe not a fully loaded or a real popular color........why do I know this, because I BOUGHT it Christmas week for a cutomer and gave it to him PLUS my 1K broker fee and shipping charges........maybe rare event but if it happens once it IS GOING to happen MORE!!!!!

I need to stick with CHRIS n this one guys, Sorry!

Did Ferrari step up the production of the 430 to compete withthe gallardo? Seems to be more around than 360's were when they were the new model.

I think they were all snapped up by Autosport USA and can now be had for the 175 range. I hear there are only a handful of "new" 05's left.
