Hey Everyone, My dad is looking seriously at a 2005 Maserati Gransport with just over 10km's on it. He told me to try and get some info on it. He will be trading in his 2002 XKR on this car most likely. It will be his everyday car, to/from work, and driving the odd kid around. Is there anything he should know? He is worried about maintenance costs, if it will be a good enough upgrade over the XKR and about the F1 style gearbox. I've searched and found some helpful stuff, but I just wanted to get some more opinions on the car. Thanks, -dave
Keep in mind the transmission is a manual, operated by a robot. You have to drive it yourself (use the paddles), it can be great, OK in medium traffic. "Auto" mode is marginal. Reliability is generally similar to BMW/Mercedes, of course varying from one car to the next, like any other (except the quirks). These are not mass-production cars, more like 1000 coupes per year in the US.
