Purchased this a year ago. We are too busy and have too many other cars/toys to drive it. Around 250 miles since purchase. I don't think putting it in long-term storage is my best choice, so I'm offering it for sale.


Clear title in hand. No history of accidents or damage. No stories. Nearly perfect exterior with a tiny chip on right B pillar and a few small front under tray scuffs from previous owners. Car check will show 5 transfers but the first 2 were between family members. Previous owner bought it with 6K miles and put around 3K on it over about one year.

Prices seem to be all over the place in some of the listings I've seen. The asking prices in the high 30's don't seem to generate much interest though. A lot of modified cars, super chargers, etc. Some buyers want those. Rebuilt title cars hit the high 20's on actual transaction prices.

We have debated keeping it, but with 8 cars here, another on the way and two kids in college, it will never be driven. No time to make it a track car. We'd never get to a track. Busy work, travel and family schedules. Seems a waste just to store it in hopes that it will appreciate. After taxes, insurance, services, etc, I doubt any meaningful ROI. I do have space leftover from my racing days, but would rather just sell it.

Somebody will buy it and drive it. As it should be.

 

Thanks. Right now it's on here and LT. I bought it from a seller and vendor on LT last year. I'm leaving Craigslist off my radar. I've sold several personal cars on eBay, and I do have an Autotrader account. Those will be my next steps. I'm in no particular hurry to sell it. Plenty of storage space around here, just no time to do anything with it.

I think it's priced appropriately for a private sale car. Dealers might put them out there a little higher, but I can't compete with a dealer on financing, service, follow up after sale, etc. Private sellers usually give up 5-10% on price to dealers for those reasons. On the flip side, no one in my area would really be interested in taking it on trade unless they got a spectacularly good deal. There are several rebuilt and salvaged title Elises out there in the $26-$29K range.

I'm sure the car will attract the right buyer with patience on my part. Thanks for the comments.

Several are starting to pop up for sale above $35K.

Great driver's car at a good price. Lots of emails but no deal yet.
