hello, i've noticed that all the ferrari/maserati dealerships in the midwest united states are only selling maserati coupe's, grand sport & quattroporte. no spyders? is it just the midwest, or has maserati reduced (discontinued?) the 2005 maserati spyder in the USA? thanks
When I was at Lime Rock a few weekends ago and spoke to the FNA/MNA guys they told me the Spyder is gone, only the 90th anniversary spyders are being produced of which there are only 90. It was surprising to me to hear that as most people that have driven it say they'd take it over an SL so its a valid car to have in the lineup. Phil
Is it possible that due to the new spider being released later this year that they will stop producing the old ones so as not to have an unsold inventory which they then have to discount?
TeamF1jr heard right...the only Spyder in Maserati's line up is the 90th- Anniversary. There is a dealer meeting being held in Italy as we speak after which time we hope to know when the next generation Spyder/Coupe will be built.
I was told that maserati only made 200 or so spyders this year due to the demands for quattroporte. If there is any merit to the claim, there wouldn't be many spyders left out there anyway.
There were 2 Spyders on the floor in San Antonio in March but, I'm not sure about now. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Word has it that the next generation Spyder & Coupe have been cancelled. They are being reworked onto a shared platform with Alfa Romeo. Expected release date is 18 to 24 months.
Wow, when we picked up the GS in January, they're inventory was pathetic. I think they had: -Our GS -'04 vintage spyder -silver 575M -silver 360 spider w/ rims -360m -REALLY NICE '05 XKR Jag (Black/black with 20in sepangs) -550barch. -QP Demo -348 I think our GS was the only new f/m, there.
Ferrari of Seattle has an '05 Spyder in stock. It's the only one that I recall passing through the dealership on the floor (other than an anniversary model) - Tim
maserati of cincinnati has three in stock; white, black, and whatever color this is http://www.maseratiofcincinnati.com/SummaryMaserati.asp?StockNumber=50019563&Model=SPYDER
that is the 90th anniversary model in the 'anniversary blue'. i have high hopes of it as it looks fabulous in the press pictures. however, i have the opportunity to see the car the other day. perhaps the high hopes of THE maserati anniversary blue let me down. in bright daylight, the blue is just a little too sharp. the closest thing it looks like is the 350Z's blue with more metallics and less saturated. IMO a slightly darker metallic blue will suit the spyder better. the CF bubble cover is interesting. the interior is just as nice as the GS. the shield on the side... well, i am not used to it.. looks a little tacky.
no, it is not a GranSport with a convertible top. it is a spyder with interior and exterior trims from the GS. mechanically it is a spyder, not a GS.
Correct, it is, if you will, a "Ricer" GS. It's got the show of the GS, but not the go. It's basically a Spyder + Some nice new ext/int details, whereas the GS is the Coupe + Some nice new ext/int details + modified mechanics.
That spyder is the same combo we have -- black/tan + pollished wheels. That's weird that all of their cars have polished wheels (A $1000 option) and the gransport-mesh grille (a $xxxx option)
