Hey Guys, Hope everyone had a Happy New Year! I wanted to see if anyone else has seen this on their vehicles. The flickering is not obvious (not like a TV flickering), but if you look at the screen, you can see the brightness slightly flicker do you guys have this experience and is this normal? If not, anyone know the cause? Thanks in advance -Charlie
There have been some failures apparently where the flickering is bad and they needed to be replaced - I think that was more of a 599 thing than a 612 thing. Mine flickers "ever so slightly" when the car is parked outside overnight in winter, but once warm inside doesn't flicker. Wasn't at a level where I got round to mentioning it to the dealer.
I see the brightness of mine flicker or vary slightly as well. It seems to correspond to the charging system function, like it's sensitive to the alternator being loaded when the A/C or some other system in the car demands a heavier electrical load. Its never very much or terribly bothersome, so I just ignore it.
Mine flickers slightly, almost exactly as Eric describes. I've wondered if I should try to get it replaced before the warranty expires.
Hey guys, some info -- talked to my dealer on this. He acknowledged it and knows its there. Says that you will see a slight "flicker" but if its serious, they will look into it I'm under warranty until May so I'm going to have them check it out. Thanks for the feedback guys
Hi Charlie, Happy new year to you too. I'll have to check and report back. Best regards, Chett PS... give me a call when you get a chance.
I have seen this on mine- it seems to happen with the lights in automode. Hope it is not a major issue--i do see this happen only a few times when the a surge happens.
