Up for sale is my 2006 Ferrari F430 Challenge car. Vehicle is in Race Car condition. Tracked at a private course the last few years. Vehicle was sold new to Al Heygi to campaign in Corse Clienti. My understanding was this was a back-up vehicle. I have two hap-hazard folders of documentation that will come with vehicle of course. Shows race prep configuration, qualifying and grid sheets. I see maybe a few for Mr. Heygi, but it was not his main car from my understanding. Car was sold for $165-169K ( I have Bill of Sale, cannot remember exact amount) in 2009 to second owner and campaigned several times in Corse Clienti races. I have race config sheets and grid sheets for those races as well. I tried to organize everything, but it is a little bit of a mess - my apologies. The second owner was way more budget conscience and mid-pack driver. After 2012 the vehicle was relegated to private track days, I heard two SCCA events - no idea what class - maybe some WRL and ride along for kids and family. I see docs where Norwoods serviced car some and another track side support vendor. Vehicle was converted at great cost to steel brakes (but less than Carbon track use) about 2011 or 2012, but all Carbon Composite parts accounted for. Rotors may still be good? I am sure it need parts servicing for the Carbon Components, but we have them all. Steel Brakes feel and work excellent. Spare Set of wheels. Complete Air Jack Package. Older Cool Suit Pump. Livery Poster and Factory Manual Binder. Engine is still sealed. Engine oil service last done in 2016. No visible oil leaks on engine, but Oil Tank crush washer leaking a few drops. Will see spot on floor as it seeps through under-shielding. Starts up and runs well. Currently running 93 Octane Pump gas for paddock parking and transport. Last major known repair was for motor mounts. The private track had a track side service company that mainly raced SCCA GT1 and GT2 Camaros. They started supporting Porsches as well and kept an eye on this car. I saw receipts for Boardwalk Ferrari and Norwoods as well as a 3rd vendor. Cosmetically the car has had its livery removed and not buffed. Has some minor bruising to clear bra. Road rash on rockers and wheel opening from gravel. Little nicks here and there, but overall from a race car perspective with Challenge race history, it is in good condition. Interior is in nice condition. Seats are good, all covers are in good shape. Carbon shells are in race ready condition - how would you really know? All switches and equipment functions as designed and all currently working. Fairly new Odyssey Race battery. Keep it on a trickle charger and always starts. Battery cover removed and stored behind passenger seat. Last documented Mileage I see is in the 7800 range. I have been told it is in the 10K range today. Has not been put on a SD2/3 in several years and I have no way to confirm. Last known Clutch life was less than 45%. No idea what it is today, but it runs and drives and all gears work and activate. No slippage. Have not driven vehicle in race mode and only have turned off ASR to verify function. No warnings or messages present in display. All steering wheel functions work. Car has had very light use since 2014. Last known track day was in 2015. Driver/Owner and spouse shared car and just had fun with it. Probably has not been driven to maximum effort since Mr. Heygi's days. Has had one off track excursion that required slight repair to left quarter and refinish. Has also had both front and rear bumpers replaced and repainted. Absolutely ZERO Tub Damage. Zero structural or major cosmetic repair or repaint. All other panels and paint original. Have receipt for that work for documentation. Livery has been removed and should clean up well. I have only washed car. Wheels are straight and true to my knowledge and I see no impact damage. But they were thrown around and could use refinishing if you are like me and like clean pretty wheels. One spare set. Also comes with air gun, center lock wheel socket, air wand and tank with regulator to easily jack up. These are a high pressure air jack system. Will need a proper airline. I think nearly 300 PSI is needed to lift quickly and evenly? Set at 150-180psi it may have to help help at right front corner. I can shut valve, remove air/NO2 line and they all stay up, no leaks, no noises. Have to have that working or you cannot get jack or two post lift under arms it. These cars are low! To Review: -2006 F430 Challenge Car - Campaigned. -I am 3rd Owner -Race Car condition - Not a street car waxed or babied - Driven at speed on a track no concern for cosmetics other than overall appearance - 2-3 footer -Poor records - Mainly I think race car guys do not want wife or business partners to see expense, so they just pay for stuff and throw away receipts. It is what I do! -Car has not been on SD in years. Private track is just over 2 miles. Maybe 100 Laps, maybe 500 since 2010, no idea. Based on my knowledge and relationship, I feel it is confidently under 13,000 miles and probably more like 10,000. I am pretty sure it is lower than higher. -Clutch should be done. If you run it till it breaks, it could be really expensive. I would probably make some hot laps with it as is and not go into a race with it. Hell, it could be fine?!?! -Engine is sealed and has not been opened. Accessories have been serviced, Motor mounts replaced. Fluids done. No records. Can verify with last known track side support, but it would be a verbal only. Engine does not leak Oil. No smoke. No overheating or Oil Pressure issues. -The absolute cheapest F430 Street or Race that I know of, period. Why? Because it is a race car, that has sat more lately than raced. It has not had clutch done since 2009(?). it has not been on an SD in Years. I am passing along the same opportunity offered to me. I want it to sell and leave my garage, so my wife will stop making fun of me for not fitting into my expensive toy. I am trying to recover my involvement. I have considered parting car. I think it is worth my asking price in parts alone: Engine $35K or more. Trans $15-20?? Wheels - $6K a set. Carbon Brakes with race Calipers - $8-10K. Seats $4-6K (Maybe More). Tub Assy with suspension - $30-35K (Maybe less or even more). Hell Yeah, I should part it! I am leaving money on the table!! But alas, I think that is wrong to do to a perfectly good, running driving, race'able vehicle. I think it could bring more on BaT. I am willing to set a reasonable reserve and watch where it goes. I have a bottom dollar and one of you nice fellows on here that may be a a touch shorter can go to track and have fun. Plenty of race shops and support for vehicle around the country. Only takes money. At my price you can enjoy it, race it, park it and sell it for your investment, especially if you get to use it. $79,900 - Rob I tried 3 times to rotate pics. ^^^^^Thank you one million percent. Please PM me how. I tried flipping them wrong in my files and uploading upside down and they still came in upside down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When taking photos with an iPhone, make sure the volume control buttons are facing down towards the ground. Problem solved.
Sorry Charlie - errr Dave Sold on LA Craigslist to a Chicago buyer with homes in both hoods. Not a peep for leads on Fchat. I have a lead from a campaigner in Ft. Laurderdale who called on Cars.com and One From LA - CL again. Those two cats are second and third in line if the first guy fails to show. A lot of people think they can street this car - not, but they see the price and think so. I really think if no one realizes what a deal this is and I think the deal scares them, but I may just part the damn thing. I would have more fun doing that and make money. Right now I am just licking my wounds moving along.
Wow, you flipped this car in more ways then one. Congrats to you and the new owner as well. Fun times ahead.
Yeah, it was last weekend, but I was probably not clear that it was gone, gone [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Man I saw those first chunk of pics and thought this price is amazing, this car clearly has more Grip than any other car ever. Congrats on sale.
When I am in the market, this is what I'd be looking for. Not the right time though. Glad it found a good home. Kai
