I see what you mean
Care to place a friendly wager? The car will premier at the Detroit Motor show in January 2015 as both a road car to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford's GT40 victory at Le Mans and a racing variant to return to that series. Oh and there will be a new Raptor F150 unveiled as well.
It is estimated that 1,500 - 2015 of the total production of 4.038 have been damaged, repaired, or totalled. During my search for a GT, the number that came up from owners, dealers, etc., is that over 700 of them have been totalled. The now infamous car dealer who put the Bugatti in the lake and is was found guilty, etc., made his living off of repairing and selling damaged and totalled GT's.... I almost learned a lesson the hard way, but due diligence and helpful owners shed light on that subject (a story for another time). If you have ever driven the GT, you undoubtedly understand just how easy it is to get into trouble quickly in one. Not hard at all to spin the wheels on the 2nd-3rd upshift and start a cascade of events that could have a very bad ending. For me, it can be one scary car to drive and you quickly find your limits as a driver....humbling really.
There was a white with blue stripes GT in Alaska that I saw with 2.8 miles. It was delivered new to the owner's garage, PDI performed in his garage, and all subsequent TSBs and recalls done in his garage. He had a very specific regimen of regularly running the car up to operating temperature, pushing it back and forth to keep the tires from flat-spotting, and working the suspension without actually driving the car. It was a very interesting way to own a car, but if he decides to sell, he may just get his money's worth.

And all non-highway miles!! Actually, all those miles were in and out of the showroom. Most likely no test drive. Would love to have that car, but unfortunately I don't have a sugar momma to buy it for me.
I am more disappointed that they didn't use a V8 ... Even though I am sure the V6 is a lovely engine ... I still think that something called Ecoboost does not belong on a supercar.
I think both of these reasons will help the Ford GT continue to climb. Very interesting to see what happens this week and Barrett Jackson!
Agreed on both points and yes i find a tt v6 disappointing as well. Still if it had a manual box I'd be lining up to buy it.
By the way ... because they labelled this a "concept" I am still hopeful that the production version will feature a V8 by the time they start taking orders next year. Fingers crossed
... dismal investment potential, all the worse having to drive them, kit cars and retrograde vehicles are never collector's items - asj.
