Ahh another genius that has never owned, driven or even sat in one. Tell me, how can you be so clueless about a car as you are this one?
This is the actual car that will be produced. It is not a concept. It was said in an interview by one of Ford's people.
Well ... that sucks. I guess we'll live with it. Not sure what to make of the engine note: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMD3Vu3xL-c[/ame]
I like the design and I'm glad Ford is building something new but, the V6 just doesn't do it for me. They definitely need to work on the exhaust note. You couldn't even hear it if it was started next to my GT. The car needs a V8. Too bad it won't get one. On the other hand the GT 350 has a very nice sound. Nothing like a Fer.. Er Ford flat plane crank.
2006 FORD GT HERITAGE EDITION - Barrett-Jackson Auction Company - World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions
Mark, he is probably the biggest Troll on F-Chat for the last few years, you should read his posts in the F1 Section. I don't know if he is really that clueless or just likes to stir up trouble, all I know is he takes the Troll of the Year award.
This should quiet all those that thought the Gts were going to drop in price. The new car is going to be so expensive it won't affect the old ones except in a positive way. I won't worry about it either way as I intend to drive and enjoy what I have.
I don't know where the markets going on these cars but that has to be a disappointing number for that car. Recent asking prices for the Heritage Edition have been well over 500K.
The car in question had 2,900 miles: a Heritage in the wrapper would bring more. Also I understand the aforementioned was a Canadian car (not sure) but could influence top price. Even if they level off at the 400 thousand dollar, that is double MSRP.
I would say not to shabby for a 9yr. old car plus he at least got to drive it. I dont think the seller is crying in his corn flakes, lol
here it is for $459K Used 2006 Ford GT Base in Ontario CA at Cnc Motors Inc - Carsforsale.com with 3 miles. Used? lol
All the new cars seem to be getting very heaving in the technology department (paddles, electric motors/hybrid etc....) Ford GT, Carrera GT and the Enzo are relatively simple cars.... The cars that are selling and breaking the $500,000 price point have been cars with miles in the hundreds and US cars. Do not know if/how the car being Canadian car made a difference or not..... Ron Pratte's silver Ford GT that they sold did $600k and no one knew the miles? I did a carfax on it and in 2007 it had over 5k miles so who knows what happened since then.... Not really an argument IF the cars are appreciating or not.....
Cam I think your point is spot on. The FGT is a last of a generation. Lets use the 997 4.0 GT3 RS as an example. the 991 GT3 came out and those cars went up more. They are the last of a great bread of visceral drivers cars.
Those who crap on the FGT likely haven't driven or owned one. It's just a shame this particular car likely won't ever get driven again. As my CAD$ continues to ***** the bed, i'll bet you see a bunch of cars coming in from canada. At current prices and exchange rates, both my FGT and CGT have doubled what i paid for each.
who craps on fgt?! it is best stick shift car I have ever driven on the street. so much fun. its an amazing combo of finesse and power
Ditto! The best car anywhere. I have owned porches, ferraris, lambos, vipers, vettes, bmw's, maseratis, the list goes on and on and I can tell you that there is nothing more fun to drive than a FGT. Period!
Not sure, maybe. Depends what happens to the market and our $. Sold the 16M. Replaced it with a black one.
I see, now I know you have the last one out of seven Canadian 16M . I just bought a red one which was from Ferrari of Alberta. Let us meet this summer.
Yes, let's. There's got to be more than 7 in Canada. No. Had what I thought was a semi-firm deal on a black one, but seller backed out. Gave up after they doubled or tripled in price.
