Hmm... I thought all the GranSports were Coupes.

    I just learned something. :)

I like the interior color combination. The blue instrument panel offers a nice contrast.

That was the only option I considered but did not get on my coupe as it would have
delayed delivery by 5 or so months.

These cars are an absolute BLAST to drive. Same engine as the 360 Ferrari. These are a lot of bang for the buck. My friend has one and I drove it in LA for a weekend and it sounds and drives just like a Ferrari for a fraction of the cost. I think he picked his up for $40k with low miles!

The engine design is the same as the F430. However, the engines are not identical. Regardless, they are a great car and a tremendous value.

Great cars, 0-60 4.3/180 MPH top end. My coupe has been a great baby hauler for 6 months now 1,000 miles a month. We were doing a weekend car rally and another couple had to ride in back for 160 fast and twisty miles because their car broke down. They were very comfortable and I still had my seat in the usual position. Gets tons of attention, which I don't care for, but gives you a head to head comparison against the 10 to 1 more common Porsches and Mercedes in this class.

How is the "Auto" feature on the car? If you have used it, please give me input on how it is

A bit jerky and a real clutch killer. The manual mode is much more fun. I kind of miss my Maser...

never used it, but heard tough on the clutch. the F1 is best used by someone with manual experience, the engine revs so fast that they can forget to shift.

Its real easy to learn though. Also, when in the Maser I found I was shifting way more often than I would in a traditional manual. I would say I am a better driver now because of the F1.

If you are on the fence about a Maser F1, jump down they are great!

Yes, the GS and the 4200 Coupe/Spyder share the same Cambiocorsa (F1) transmission. Latest software update was 2004 but older models can be reflashed.

Hmm, the number designation on our cars is still 4200? I didn't know that. GranTurismo too?

The new GT is not a 4200 but the GranSports are.

The 4200's are great cars and better bargains now. I bought mine new and boy did I lose in the trade-in. Still happy though :)

I just thought of the previous 4200 and the Coupes/GranSports as two different models.

Previous 4200? Do you mean the 3200? That was the European Only with the funky rear lights.

    Best,

ahh, confused then (I'm a Ferrari guy ;)), so 3200 was before the coupe and then the new Maserati was the 4200, I've never heard the Coupe/GranSport refered to as a 4200. Did they give a number to the GranTurismo? Thanks.

To the GranTurismo? Not that I am aware of, however, for trivia sake: The 4200 Coupe/Spyder/GS platform is internally designated as M138. The QP/GT platform is M139.
